DRAW CLOSER TO GOD A Journey of Prayer, Faith, Hope, and Peace A 7-Day Prayer and Bible Study Guide By: Lordie Sy / God’s Love Welcome, Dear Reader Have you ever felt tired, worried, discouraged, or uncertain about what tomorrow will bring? You are not alone. Life brings challenges, but we can turn to God for strength, wisdom, comfort, and hope. This devotional guide is an invitation to spend time with God through prayer and the study of His Word. You do not need to be a Bible expert. You only need a willing heart and a desire to know Him more deeply. For the next seven days, let us learn to pray with faith, understand God's Word, trust His promises, and live each day with gratitude. My prayer for you: May these pages encourages your heart, strengthen your faith, and remind you that you can seek God in every season of life. How to Use This Guide 1. Find a quiet place where you can spend time with God. 2. Read the Bible passage for the day. 3. Reflect on the lesson and answer the study questions. 4. Pray the suggested prayer in your own words. 5. Write down what you learned and how you can apply it. 6. Take one small step of faith each day. You may use a notebook to record your prayers, thoughts, and spiritual growth. Write your 5 realizations here: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

DAY 1: DRAW CLOSER TO GOD Bible Reading: James 4:8 Key Verse: “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.” — James 4:8, KJV Bible Study God desires us to seek Him sincerely. Drawing closer to God is not only about attending church or knowing Bible verses. It is about building a relationship with Him through prayer, obedience, worship, and daily fellowship. Sometimes, our busy schedules distract us from spending time with God. We may become overwhelmed by responsibilities, family concerns, or personal struggles. Today is an opportunity to pause and make room for God in your life. You do not need perfect words when you pray. Come to Him honestly. Tell Him your fears, your dreams, your mistakes, and your gratitude. Reflection Questions 1. What things have been distracting me from spending time with God? 2. What can I change to make time for prayer and Bible reading? 3. How can I show God that I sincerely want to know Him better? Today's Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for inviting me into a relationship with You. Forgive me for the times I have allowed my worries and busy schedule to distract me from Your presence. Teach me to seek You with a sincere heart. Help me understand Your Word and follow Your ways. Draw me closer to You every day. In Jesus' name, Amen. My Faith Action Spend at least ten minutes today reading the Bible and talking to God. Write down one thing you are grateful for. My journal: What is one way I want to grow closer to God? DAY 2: FINDING PEACE IN WORRY Bible Reading: Philippians 4:6–7 Key Verse: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” — Philippians 4:6, KJV Bible Study Worry can fill our minds with questions about the future. We may worry about money, health, relationships, work, or the needs of our families. God invites us to bring our concerns to Him in prayer. This does not mean that every problem disappears immediately. It means we do not have to face our struggles without seeking His guidance and strength. Prayer helps us express what is in our hearts and remember that our circumstances do not define God's faithfulness. When anxiety comes, pause and pray. Thank God for what He has already done. Ask for wisdom to handle what you can change, and seek support when a burden feels too heavy to carry alone. Reflection Questions 1. What is troubling my heart today? 2. Have I brought this concern honestly to God? 3. What can I thank God for even during this difficult season? Today's Prayer Dear Lord, my heart is sometimes filled with worry and fear. You know every burden I carry. Please give me wisdom for the decisions I must make and courage for the challenges before me. Help me remember your promises when I feel overwhelmed. Teach me to trust You one day at a time. In Jesus' name, Amen. My Faith Action Write down one worry and turn it into a specific prayer. Identify one practical step you can take to address the situation. My journal: What would it look like for me to trust God with this concern today?

DAY 3: HOPE IN DIFFICULT TIMES Bible Reading: Romans 15:13 Key Verse: “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing...” — Romans 15:13, KJV Bible Study There are seasons when life does not turn out the way we expected. Disappointments, unanswered questions, and painful experiences can make us feel discouraged. But biblical hope is more than wishing that everything will go our way. It is confidence in God's character and the possibility of His work in our lives, even when we cannot see the whole picture. You may not have all the answers today. You may still be waiting for a breakthrough or a change in your circumstances. You can nevertheless take the next faithful step, ask for help when needed, and remember the ways God has sustained you. Do not measure your future only by today's difficulty. Let God's Word remind you that your present struggle is not the whole story. Reflection Questions 1. What situation has been making me feel discouraged? 2. Which Bible truth gives me hope in this season? 3. Who can I encourage or ask for support today? Today's Prayer Father God, when I feel discouraged, reminds me that hope is still possible. Strengthen my faith when I cannot see what lies ahead. Help me remember Your goodness and remain patient while I wait. Give me courage to take the next step and a heart that continues to trust You. In Jesus' name, Amen. My Faith Action Send an encouraging message to someone who may be struggling. Remind them that they are not alone. My journal: What gives me hope when life becomes difficult?

DAY 4: TRUSTING GOD'S DIRECTION Bible Reading: Proverbs 3:5–6 Key Verse: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5, KJV Bible Study Life is full of decisions. Some are small, while others can affect our families, finances, relationships, and future. We may want God to show us every detail before we move forward. However, trusting Him often means seeking His wisdom without knowing every outcome. We can seek direction through Scripture, prayer, wise counsel, and careful consideration of the facts. Faith does not require us to ignore responsibility or make decisions without thinking. When you are uncertain, ask God for wisdom. Be willing to learn, correct your course, and wait when necessary. Trust is a daily choice to follow God's principles even when the road ahead is unclear. Reflection Questions 1. What decision am I currently facing? 2. Does my choice align with biblical principles of honesty, love, and wisdom? 3. Who can offer wise and trustworthy counsel? Today's Prayer Lord, I need Your wisdom and direction. Sometimes I want to control every detail because I am afraid of making mistakes. Teach me to trust You while also making responsible decisions. Help me recognize wise counsel and understand Your Word. Guide my steps and give me courage to do what is right. In Jesus' name, Amen. My Faith Action Before making an important decision, pause to pray, review your options, and seek advice from someone trustworthy. My journal: What step can I take today toward a wise and faithful decision?

DAY 5: FORGIVENESS AND A HEALING HEART Bible Reading: Ephesians 4:31–32 Key Verse: “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another...” — Ephesians 4:32, KJV Bible Study Forgiveness can be difficult, especially when someone has deeply hurt us. We may carry anger, disappointment, or memories that are painful to revisit. The Bible teaches us to practice kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. Because God has shown us mercy, we are called to extend mercy to others. Forgiveness does not mean pretending that wrongdoing never happened. It does not mean allowing abuse to continue or removing necessary boundaries. You can forgive while protecting yourself, seeking help, and holding others accountable for their actions. Healing can take time. Ask God to help you release bitterness little by little and to guide you toward healthy, wise responses. Remember also to receive God's forgiveness and treat yourself with humility and compassion as you learn and grow. Reflection Questions 1. Is there hurt or resentment that I need to bring before God? 2. What healthy boundaries may be necessary in this relationship? 3. How can I practice kindness without ignoring wrongdoing? Today's Prayer Merciful Father, You know the pain I carry in my heart. Help me begin the journey of forgiveness where I have been hurt. Give me wisdom to establish healthy boundaries and courage to seek help when needed. Forgive me for my own mistakes and teach me to live with compassion. Bring healing to my heart in your time. In Jesus' name, Amen. My Faith Action Pray for wisdom about a difficult relationship. If reconciliation is appropriate and safe, consider one peaceful step toward it. Do not put yourself in danger to prove that you forgive. My journal: What does forgiveness mean to me, and what support might I need as I heal?

DAY 6: GRATITUDE IN EVERY SEASON Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 Key Verse: “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18, KJV Bible Study Gratitude helps us notice God's gifts, even in ordinary moments. A loving conversation, food on the table, a new opportunity, or the strength to get through a difficult day can become reasons to give thanks. Being grateful does not mean denying sadness or pretending that painful circumstances are good. We can grieve, ask questions, and seek change while still recognizing the blessings present in our lives. A thankful heart learns to notice what is good without comparing its journey with someone else's. Today, look for small reminders of God's goodness. Let gratitude shape your words, your attitude, and the way you treat people. Reflection Questions 1. What three things am I thankful for today? 2. How has someone been a blessing in my life? 3. How can I show appreciation to God and to others? Today's Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for the blessings I sometimes overlook. Thank You for life, for the people who care about me, and for the strength You give me in difficult moments. Help me remain thankful without ignoring the struggles that need attention. Teach me to appreciate simple blessings and share Your love through my actions. In Jesus' name, Amen. My Faith Action Write down five things you are thankful for. Tell one person why you appreciate them. My journal: What blessing have I been taking for granted?

DAY 7: LIVING A LIFE OF FAITH Bible Reading: Matthew 5:14–16 Key Verse: “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” — Matthew 5:14, KJV Bible Study Faith is not only something we express in prayer or worship. It also influences the way we live. Jesus calls His followers to be a light in the world. We can reflect His love through honesty, kindness, generosity, patience, and service. You do not need to do something extraordinary every day to make a difference. A sincere apology, a helping hand, a comforting word, or an act of generosity can be a meaningful expression of faith. As this seven-day journey ends, remember that your relationship with God is not limited to a devotional schedule. Continue reading Scripture, praying, worshipping, and putting what you learn into practice. Let your life point others toward the goodness and love of God. Reflection Questions 1. What have I learned about God during these seven days? 2. Which spiritual habit do I want to continue? 3. How can I demonstrate God's love in my home or community? Today's Prayer Lord Jesus, thank You for walking with me through this devotional journey. Help me live out my faith with sincerity. Make me a source of encouragement, kindness, and hope to others. Give me courage to stand for what is right and humility to keep learning. May my words and actions honor You. In Jesus' name, Amen. My Faith Action Choose one spiritual habit to continue for the next thirty days. It may be daily prayer, Bible reading, journaling, or serving someone in need. My journal: What is one change I want to carry forward after completing this guide?
