Its main purpose is to help students become responsible citizens by encouraging them to serve their communities. Through different activities, we learn that even small acts of service can make a positive difference in the lives of others. Because of this, I believe NSTP is important since it allows students like us to develop good values, gain a better understanding of our community, and realize that everyone has a role in helping improve society. As I learned about the background and laws behind NSTP, I better understood why it is a required program for college students. I think making NSTP mandatory is important because it encourages Filipino youth to become more aware of our nation and the needs of our communities while we are still young. This has helped me realize that civic responsibility is not only about following laws but also about actively helping others and contributing to the country's growth in meaningful ways. Overall, I am grateful that this subject, specifically the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), gives me the opportunity to serve my community, even through simple activities.

I learned a lot from our discussion about Filipino traits and values such as respect, hospitality, positivity, generosity, and being family-oriented. It made me realize that these values are some of the reasons why Filipinos are known for being kind and welcoming, and it made me feel proud to be a Filipino. As I listened to the discussion, I also realized that even though these values are our strengths, there are times when people take advantage of them. For example, some people abuse the kindness and generosity of others. This made me think that we should continue showing these good values, but we should also know when to be careful. Overall, I learned a lot from our second meeting, and it helped me appreciate our country and our Filipino values even more. Documentations:

CLASS CODE: 405 GROUP NO., NAME & POSITION: 1-AUXILIUMPOPULI-OBSERVER DATE: July 4, 2026 INSIGHTS/LEARNING After our 3rd meeting in CWTS and our lesson about the community, I realized that there are a lot of things we, as young people, can contribute to our own community, even in simple ways such as joining helpful activities, volunteering, and participating in community programs. As I asked some of my peers and friends about it, they also expressed that each of us can contribute to our own community if we join hands together and work as one. They suggested that to make a positive impact in our community, we should start with ourselves. Simply knowing our neighbors, doing the right thing, getting involved, helping whenever we can, and showing the values we have as Filipinos are already meaningful ways to contribute. As they spoke, I could tell that they were genuinely concerned about our community. As a group, they showed teamwork by sharing their ideas and using examples of how we can help our community through cooperation. Knowing these things, I can apply both the ideas I learned from them and the lessons from our class to somehow be of service and support our own community. By doing simple yet meaningful things, I believe we can inspire others to do the same, and as students, we can all make a positive impact together. Documentations:

I am very thankful for the NSTP program because, even though I already had an idea of what our roles are as citizens, it gave me a deeper understanding of why these responsibilities matter. It helped me realize that, as young people, we should show good citizenship by following the law, joining community programs, respecting others, voting wisely when the time comes, and always trying to do what is right. Furthermore, being asked to create a simple video about ethical leadership helped me think more deeply about the qualities that a good leader should have. It made me understand that a leader should have integrity, be honest, responsible, fair, and truly care about the people they serve. However, I also felt a little disappointed when our professor asked if the kind of leaders we showed in our video still exist today. It made me realize that leaders like that seem to be becoming fewer because most are influenced by corruption and money. Through that understanding, I learned that every one of us can use this lesson about Filipino citizenship and our responsibilities as citizens so that, when the time comes, every single one of us can use our rights to choose someone who is truly an ethical Filipino leader. I went back another day and the barangay officials kindly allowed me to interview them about our community’s development plans. They told me about the major changes happening in our area, especially the relocation of the old town center to the new Porac Municipal Hall Complex, which is now located in our barangay. They also mentioned plans for infrastructure expansion, improved road access, continuous cultural projects, and the development of more food destinations and businesses. They said that these developments will help improve both government services and businesses in our barangay for everyone. After the interview, I immediately thanked them, and I was truly grateful for their kind and accommodating attitude, especially because they took the time to speak with me despite being busy. Just to add, during my visit, on the same day I went to our hall, I passed by some people cleaning one of the main places in our barangay where a lot of people eat and hang out. This experience made me realize even more how proud I am of my barangay and how much I appreciate being part of this community. Furthermore, I am also proud of how much our barangay has developed in just a few years, since we already have major fastfood chains and supermarkets such as Jollibee, Mcdonalds, Puregold, Mr. DIY, and many others that provide more accessible food, products, and services to residents. Seeing these changes made me appreciate how our barangay continues to grow and improve. I learned that being a part of it is not only about living in it, but also about appreciating its progress, understanding its needs, and recognizing the efforts of the people who help make it a better place. CLASS CODE: 405 GROUP NO., NAME & POSITION: 1-AUXILIUMPOPULI-OBSERVER DATE: August 1, 2026 INSIGHTS/LEARNING: Considering the recent incident that happened in our school a few days ago, it made me reflect on the different struggles that everyone may be facing. I also really appreciate the time and space our professors have given us so that we can rest and breathe despite our academic responsibilities. But to answer the question honestly, I feel at ease because I think I'm very fortunate that I'm not really having a hard time with my school activities and college life in general yet. Maybe it's because I came from a high school that was known for its academics, so I had the opportunity to become used to having loaded days and managing different responsibilities at the same time. Because of this, I've somehow learned to adjust to a busy routine. Personally, I also feel at ease despite my school loads since I know that I have my family who checks up on me from time to time and friends who are always there to accompany me through both laughter and sadness. I hope that everyone, especially those who are silently struggling, can also find people who will listen to them, understand them, and remind them that they matter. This is also one of the reasons why I feel that I can handle stress better. Since I'm already used to having a busy schedule, I try to accomplish the things I need to do before they pile up and become overwhelming. I organize my priorities, give myself enough time to rest, and whenever I feel mentally tired, I allow myself to take a break instead of forcing myself to continue. Still, I know that being able to manage stress doesn't mean that everyone else can do the same, and I don't want to compare my experience with someone else's struggles. Some people may be fighting battles that we know nothing about, and sometimes, what they need most isn't advice but someone who's willing to listen without judgment. The recent loss of one of our schoolmates is a painful reminder that we should be more mindful of the people around us and never underestimate the importance of simply checking in and asking someone if they're okay. I sincerely hope that my friends, fellow classmates, professors, and the whole Holy Angel community are doing well and taking care of themselves, especially during difficult times. I hope that we continue to look out for one another, be more understanding, and remind each other that no one has to face their struggles alone.

CLASS CODE: 405 GROUP NO., NAME & POSITION: 1-AUXILIUMPOPULI-OBSERVER DATE: August 12, 2026 INSIGHTS/LEARNING: After our last online meeting this Saturday in CWTS, I started thinking more deeply about the different community issues in our country. When I saw the group work given to us, it somehow gave me a better understanding of the different problems that our country is still facing up until now. For example, the topic given to my group, which is street children, made me more knowledgeable and somehow more aware of what they are going through, even though I already had an idea about the issue. It also made me question how many problems we see every day but simply choose to ignore because we’ve become so used to them. It’s very concerning how our country continues to face more issues, and even though there are new solutions like Pax Silica that may help address certain problems for now, they could also create bigger problems in the future, while the older issues we already have are still not completely solved. Now, focusing on the topics discussed with us, specifically poverty, healthcare, underemployment, and unemployment, I realized how difficult these problems are to solve in our country. Poverty, especially, is heartbreaking because many Filipinos struggle everyday just to provide for themselves and their families, while healthcare can also be difficult to access, especially for those who can’t afford it. It also made me understand the difference between underemployment and unemployment and made me realize how many Filipinos either do not have stable jobs or are working in professions that are not what they actually want. It is very sad to think that these are only a few of the many issues our country faces, and it makes me wonder how much more there is that we still need to address. Personally, in the coming years, I don’t expect a massive change, but I hope there will at least be small improvements and meaningful changes that can give us Filipinos a reason to keep hoping for a better future. I’m currently at home, and thankfully, we’ve been protected from the worst of the heavy rains, floods, and other effects of the storm. Although it’s still difficult and worrying to see what is happening around us, I’m grateful that I’m safe and I try not to take that for granted because I know many others have not been as fortunate. I know that a lot of people, including my fellow Kapampangans and those in other affected areas, are currently experiencing much harder situations, especially with the continuous rain that has been going on for weeks. Reflecting on these, it’s unfortunate to think about how vulnerable our province remains to flooding and how much it affects the lives of many people. As citizens, we should be prepared, informed, and willing to take action whenever disasters happen. Having experienced these disasters ourselves, let’s start by addressing the problems we can help with in our communities and by choosing leaders who are capable of creating long-term solutions. Flood readiness is necessary, but addressing the root causes of flooding and having proper solutions in place are just as important. However, these problems are bigger than what I can solve as a student alone, so for now, I can only hope that everyone, regardless of where they are, stays safe, finds the strength to get through these difficult days, and receives the help and support they need. I hope we continue to pray and hold on to hope that the weather will eventually calm down, the flooding will subside, and that everyone can finally have some peace and begin recovering from everything they’ve been through. CLASS CODE: 405 GROUP NO., NAME & POSITION: 1-AUXILIUMPOPULI-OBSERVER DATE: September 15, 2026 INSIGHTS/LEARNING: Personally, this is the first time I learned what SWOT really is, although I was already familiar with the ideas of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. What I found interesting is that these ideas can be used as a strategy for improving our own community. I think SWOT helps us clearly see which factors come from within the community and which are influenced by things outside it. It shows that strengths and weaknesses are internal, while opportunities and threats are external, which can help us understand our community’s situation more clearly. For me, understanding this difference is important because it allows us to look at our problems fairly instead of blaming everything on circumstances outside our control. I also realized that it's easy to confuse a weakness with a threat because they can both negatively affect a community. For example, typhoons, flooding, and other natural disasters can be considered threats because they come from outside our control, but poor governance or a lack of proper leadership can be weaknesses within our community. At the same time, I understand that these problems are not always easy to solve, especially when communities have different limitations and challenges. Understanding SWOT Analysis made me see that improving our community is not only about waiting for outside help, but also about understanding what we can improve from within while being open to opportunities that can help us move forward. At first, I was curious about how he would teach and handle the class, but as the discussion went on, I found him to be good at teaching. He taught us what SWOT analysis was and explained it clearly, connecting it to certain situations and examples, which made it easier for us to understand. Furthermore, when our class was presenting our SWOT analysis regarding the action plan we made a while back, he added insights and suggestions that actually helped us make our work clearer and more meaningful. Additionally, the SWOT analysis of the other department had a different topic since it was about business, so we were also able to see how SWOT analysis can be applied in different situations. Despite having two classes from different departments in one room, the instructor was able to manage the class well and make the discussion comfortable and engaging. Overall, my experience with a different instructor was better than I expected, and I enjoyed learning from his way of teaching. Documentation:
