RIDERS • Open Pony Club WA riders must show proof of current open rider registration. Riders competing in 95 and above must hold EA competitor membership. Heights below, participant membership. • Rider/Horse combination may only enter one class over the weekend. One rider can ride in more than one class on different horses, maximum two entries for the weekend. • No rider under 18 years is to be left on the grounds without a parent/guardian, at any time. • Junior, Senior, Open and Adult Riders entered in Pony Club classes, must be current financial members of a Pony Club affiliated with Pony Club WA, and compete in full Pony Club uniform for all phases. They are not eligible to ride in Non-Pony Club WA classes. • PC 105 Classes: Age at 1 January of the calendar year – 12 years. • PC 95 Classes: Age at 1 January of the calendar year – 11 years. • PC 80 Classes: Age at 1 January of the calendar year – 10 years. • PC 65 Classes: Age at 1 January of the calendar year – 9 years. • PC 45 Classes: Age at 1 January of the calendar year – 8 years. • CT 45 Class: Age at 1 January of the calendar year - 7 years. • CT 35 Class: Age at 1 January of the calendar year - 5 years. • CT 35 L/R: Calendar Year of which they turn 4 years (or at discretion of organiser).
HORSES • Horses or ponies may compete in Pony Club WA Eventing from the beginning of the calendar year in which it turns 5 years old. No stallions or rigs permitted. • Substitutions: Refer to Eventing Rules • Off The Track horses must have an OTTWA Passport and supply number on entry. • OTTWA name to be used on entry. • Horses to be plaited for dressage phase DRESS AND SADDLERY • Riders must be gear checked before each phase. • Riders must supply their own number bib holder - which must be full size (to fit A4 paper) . All competitors must print their own back numbers before competing in any phase • Two bridle/saddle numbers must be worn during each phase -It is the responsibility of the rider to supply their numbers. HELPER DUTIES • Sign Up invitation for jobs link sent Wednesday 26th of August 2026 • All riders must nominate a helper over the age of 16yrs. A designated helper duty may be up to 4 hrs in length; the duty must be completed up to the 4 hours and must handover to the next helper. Helpers are not to “walk off the job” due to the risk of a safety incident or delay of the event. • One Horse – one helper, two horses = two duties. the same helper cannot be nominated for more than two riders or horses. • Helper details must include helper’s name and contact details • If a helper does not report at the time required, or do their specified duty, the rider will be eliminated. • If you scratch after close of entries, you need to fulfil your helper duty by completing yourself or finding someone to undertake your job. CROSS COUNTRY HELPERS AND OFFICIALS BRIEFING 7.30am Sunday morning at the Club House, it is compulsory for all helpers involved with XC to attend. WARNINGS Abuse of Technical Delegates, Officials, Judges, Organisers, or horses will not be tolerated, and disqualification will apply. Yellow Warning Card or Official Warning may be issued by the Technical Delegate for the following offences at Pony Club WA Official Events: • Abuse of Horse • Incorrect Behaviour • Dangerous Riding
QUALIFYING FOR CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES • Horse/Rider combinations must have achieved 2 qualifying results at the grade they wish to compete within the 12 month period to 29 Aug 2026. If you do not qualify at this event, you must inform the committee by midnight 15 Aug 2026 to be moved to the non-championship class of the same height. • If a horse/rider combination incurs more than 50 penalties in the Dressage, this score will not be accepted as a qualifying round. • If a horse/rider combination incurs more than 60 penalties in the Cross Country OR more than 16 penalties in the Jumping phase, this score will not be accepted as a qualifying round. This is a total of both Jumping and time penalties for each phase. • Qualifying events are to be done at two separate events at different locations with one being outside their own club. • Qualifying events can be from Pony Club or EWA events. • Pony Club events need to be signed off by the Technical Delegate for that event as complying with the specifications for cross country and jumping courses as described in Appendix III of Pony Club WA Eventing Rules. • Riding down – see rule 15.1 • Rule 15.1 Riding Down Championships: A horse/rider combination shall NOT be allowed to ride down directly to a Championship. If a horse has been ridden down, it shall only be allowed to compete at a Championship if it has competed only at the lower level for the 12 calendar months prior to the Championships. If the grade that the horse/rider combination is qualified is not offered then, at the committee’s discretion, a rider may ride down at Championships and carry the 7.5 penalties. A Horse Rider Combination is deemed to have qualified if they have achieved a qualifying score at least two or more events at the level in the 12 months preceding the close of entries. QUALIFYING FOR NON-CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES • Horse/Rider combinations need to have completed a minimum of two working rallies and be signed off as competent at the level entered by Club Chief Coach. • Open Riders do not have to complete 2 rallies but must have completed one event at the requested height in the twelve months in the lead up to the event RALLY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA • Riders who have achieved their C*/K Proficiency Certificate are only required to complete two qualifying rallies. • All other riders need three rallies as a qualifier to attend this event. They must attend a minimum of three hours at three separate Working Rallies prior to 19 April 2026, two of which must be at the club they are a member • Participate in at least one ridden session at each Working Rally; If riding two horses at a Working Rally, riders must participate in at least one ridden session on each horse; and • A maximum of two horses/ponies may be ridden by one rider at any Working Rally CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION • Eligible riders may compete on TWO different horses in two different grades, providing that both horses are duly qualified to compete. The SECOND nominated horse may NOT displace another rider who is entering their primary horse for that grade. • Each horse may only be ridden by one rider for the duration of the event.
• Declaration of qualification and eligibility must be signed by the chief coach and an executive member of the rider’s club will be required with all entry nominations for State Eventing Championships. • Teams of four or three Riders will be drawn for the competition. The best three (3) scores will be counted to make the team total. If entries are insufficient for a team competition in any grade, then teams of two or three will be drawn (the best two (2) scores will be counted.). • Clubs are not permitted to replace a horse/rider in a Club team with a horse/rider from a composite team after the draw has been published. CLUB INFORMATION All clubs will be sent a list of riders entered after the close of entries on 10 August with a Club Endorsement and Declaration spreadsheet. These must me returned by Friday 14 August. From the summary of entries, Clubs will need to: • Verify that all club member rider/horse combinations entered in the Championship classes have completed 3 working rallies. • Verify all riders entering the Championship classes are duly qualified as per 2026 criteria • Put together club teams • Select Team Managers • Verify that all club member rider/horse combinations entered in the Non-Championship classes are competent at the level entered, have completed a minimum of 2 working rallies, and completed 1 event at the height they are entering. SCRATCHING & REFUNDS Please use this form for all Scratchings & Refund Requests you need to scratch, please make all attempts to do so prior to close of entries, as to not affect the draw / helper duty allocations. Scratching after the draw is published requires the rider to complete the helper duty to receive a refund (less $30 admin fee). Refunds will strictly only be considered upon provision of a medical certificate or vet certificate. A deduction of a $30 admin fee applies. Refund requests must be lodged within 7 days of the event and will not be considered for any other reasons. BIKES/SCOOTERS Bikes and scooters are not allowed at the venue PONY CLUB WA – NO DOG POLICY • This is a Pony Club WA event, and the policy of NO DOGS will be strictly adhered to. Failure to abide by this policy may result in the elimination of rider(s). • Pony Club WA is committed to inclusion and recognises the rights of individuals with a disability to be accompanied by an assistance animal, in accordance with the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) and the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth). • If you have family members or friends attending, please remind them of the No Dog Policy. OBJECTIONS: Only the owner or his authorised agent, or the rider of a horse taking part in the competition or in a team event only the team manager is entitled to lodge an objection. Protests must be in writing, signed by the person making the protest, and presented personally to the Event Secretary or the Technical Delegate together with any supporting evidence, names of witnesses and the necessary deposit of $100
