EfficiencyKnowledge & Attitude Integrity FlexibilityResponsibility At Mustek, our values are more than words - they guide the way we think, and grow together. They shape our culture, inspire our people, and drive how we deliver value to our customers across South Africa

As we enter the month of August, we take a moment to celebrate our people, acknowledge important milestones, and recognise the contributions that make MUSTEK a successful and thriving organisation. Thank You for Completing Your Performance Reviews I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all employees who successfully completed their Performance Reviews. Thank you for embracing the process with professionalism, commitment, and dedication. Your participation plays an important role in supporting individual growth, team effectiveness, and the continued success of our business. Celebrating Women’s Month August is Women’s Month in South Africa, a time dedicated to honouring the courage, achievements, and contributions of women who continue to shape our country, communities, and workplaces. This year is particularly significant as South Africa commemorates the 70th Anniversary of the Historic 1956 Women’s March, when more than 20,000 women marched to the Union Buildings in protest against the pass laws. Their courage and determination remain a powerful symbol of resilience, equality, and progress. 2026 National Women’s Day Theme “Building Economic Resilience for All” At MUSTEK, we proudly celebrate the remarkable women across our organisation who contribute their expertise, leadership, resilience, and passion every day. Your contributions continue to inspire excellence, strengthen our culture, and drive our success. As we commemorate Women’s Day, let us remember the powerful words that emerged from the 1956 march: “Wathint’ Abafazi, Wathint’ Imbokodo” “You strike a woman, you strike a rock.” Let us continue to foster a workplace where everyone is valued, respected, empowered, and given the opportunity to thrive. Dear Mustekeers, “Wathint’ Abafazi, Wathint’ Imbokodo” Kabelo Mabalane Head of Human Resources

PAST EVENTS Mandela Day

SPOTLIGHT Can you introduce yourself and share a bit about your background with Mustek? Mafedile Makwala was born in Tzaneen, Limpopo, and completed his schooling in Sekororo. He developed a passion for Accounting during high school, which led him to study Commerce at college and Financial Accounting at the University of Johannesburg. He joined Mustek as an Accountant in 2007, where he spent six years building his expertise. In 2012, he relocated to Limpopo to establish and lead Mustek Limpopo. Starting with a team of just three employees, he has successfully grown the branch to 11 team members, with further expansion planned. What are some of the core values or principles that guide your branch’s operations and interactions with clients? This branch recently moved to new premises — can you tell us more about the new space and what this change means for your team and customers? Our new premises provide a safer, more secure, and modern working environment with 24-hour security, improving both operational efficiency and peace of mind. The move has boosted employee morale and created a more professional workplace, while customers have welcomed the convenient location. Overall, the new premises have enhanced our ability to serve clients effectively and support our continued growth. How does your branch actively contribute to and engage with the local community? At Mustek Limpopo, we believe success is measured not only by business growth but also by the positive impact we make in our communities. We have supported education by sponsoring the Department of Education’s Matric Results Announcement event and partnering with non- profit organisations to establish computer laboratories in communities such as N’wamitwa, Nkuna, and Moletjie, helping learners gain access to technology and digital skills. We have also contributed to community engagement through local sponsorships, including golf tournaments in Polokwane. Looking ahead, we aim to expand our impact by collaborating with traditional authorities, government, and non-profit organisations to promote education, technology, skills development, and economic empowerment across Limpopo. Can you highlight any recent initiatives or programs implemented at your branch to enhance employee satisfaction and well-being? At Mustek Limpopo, we believe strong, lasting client relationships begin with a capable and empowered team. We equip our employees with the tools, knowledge, and training they need to perform at their best while supporting their continuous growth and development. By fostering a positive, solutions-driven culture, we empower our team to deliver exceptional customer service with confidence and professionalism. This commitment to excellence helps us build trusted, long-term relationships with our customers. Open communication and teamwork are central to how we operate. We hold regular team engagements and monthly meetings to discuss performance, share ideas, and proactively address any challenges we may encounter. These sessions provide a platform for collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous improvement, ensuring that we remain aligned in our goals and committed to delivering the best possible results for our customers and the business. Moving to our new premises has been a major milestone for Mustek Limpopo. The previous facility presented ongoing health and safety challenges, making a more suitable location essential. Polokwane Branch

SPOTLIGHT How does your branch prioritise professional development and growth opportunities for its employees? Can you describe the team dynamics at the branch? How do you foster collaboration and morale among your team members? One of our proudest achievements was reaching our annual branch target with three months still remaining in the financial year. This exceptional performance reflected the dedication, hard work, and commitment of our team. In some months, we exceeded expectations by achieving up to 200% of our target, demonstrating the branch’s strong market presence and ability to consistently deliver outstanding results. Could you share a recent achievement or success story from the branch that you’re particularly proud of? Demand for sustainable energy products declined significantly after the end of load-shedding, impacting sales and increasing inventory levels. In response, we worked closely with our reseller partners to identify new opportunities for the stock, successfully reducing excess inventory through strategic collaborations and community-focused CSI initiatives. What role do you see technology playing in the future of the branch’s operations and customer interactions? Artificial Intelligence is transforming industries and creating new opportunities for businesses that embrace innovation. To remain competitive, we will continue strengthening collaboration with our partners, resellers, and customers while leveraging technology and gaining deeper customer insights to deliver innovative solutions and exceptional value. What are some unique aspects or strengths of the branch that set you apart from other branches? Polokwane Branch At Mustek Limpopo, we are committed to investing in our employees’ growth through continuous learning and professional development. With Mustek’s support, I completed my MBA at Henley Business School, reinforcing my belief in lifelong learning and leading by example. This commitment is shared across the branch, with many employees pursuing further studies. We are especially proud of Esther Mmola and Ethel Ntsoane for recently completing their BCom degrees, reflecting our dedication to developing a skilled and future-ready workforce. At Mustek Limpopo, we value the diverse strengths and perspectives of our team, believing they drive collaboration, innovation, and excellent customer service. We promote a culture of openness, transparency, and mutual respect, where employees are encouraged to communicate freely and share ideas. Through regular team meetings and active employee participation, we ensure everyone has a voice, enabling us to solve challenges together and continuously improve as a team. How does the branch celebrate and recognise achievements and milestones of its employees? At Mustek Limpopo, we believe that success is best celebrated together. We make a conscious effort to recognise and reward achievements as a team, fostering a culture of appreciation, unity, and shared purpose. For example, whenever the branch achieves its targets, we come together for a team lunch to celebrate the accomplishment and acknowledge everyone’s contribution to that success. Could you share an example of how the branch has adapted to challenges or changes in the industry or market? We believe success depends on our ability to adapt, collaborate, and leverage each team’s strengths. By understanding and supporting the roles of different departments, we strengthen teamwork, improve efficiency, and work together more effectively to achieve our shared goals.
