34th NVS-NATIONAL CRICKET MEET – 2026 -REPORT 34th NVS National Cricket Meet – 2026 ARRANGEMENTS FOR MEET – A REVIEW MEETING Date : 23 August 2026 (Sunday) Venue: JNV KOMMADI Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh Chairpersons / Officials 1. Introduction All escort teachers and team managers introduced themselves. Sri Sunil Kumar, Principal JNV Yanam, and Sri P. 34th NVS-NATIONAL CRICKET MEET – 2026 -REPORT He welcomed all participants and officials. Recalled that the National Meet was also conducted at the same venue in 2016. In 2016, there were 8 regions and no girls' participation. This year, 10 regions are participating. Emphasised the goal of identifying the best players for SGFI selection. Reminded everyone that winning and losing are natural parts of sport. Called upon everyone to create a remarkable presence at the SGFI level. Requested cooperation from all officials for the smooth conduct of the meet. He emphasised team spirit, discipline, safety and security. Teachers/PETs were instructed to remain with students on the ground. Medical facilities have been arranged at each ground. One PET teacher has been assigned to each ground/court for supervision. Teachers were advised to avoid unnecessary group gatherings and to take proper care of students. Retiring teachers/PETs were requested to provide their names so that they could be appropriately facilitated and honoured for their long service in NVS. He also mentioned the successful ongoing processing of retirement-related medical and TA bills at the Regional Office, Hyderabad. Participants were encouraged to visit nearby tourist places in Visakhapatnam with students after the meet. 4. Address by Sri Y. Srinivas Rao Sri Y. Srinivas Rao, Ex-PET, JNV Kommadi, welcomed all team managers and escort teachers. He informed the participants that: Girls' matches will be conducted at the JNV Visakhapatnam ground. We have good grounds and facilities for conducting the matches. Matches will commence with the permission of the DC. Matches are planned at Kommadi Stadium, Battalion ground and other venues, with a total of six grounds prepared. Sri Sharma, who has previously conducted a National Meet, will extend support in organising the present event. 5. Match Regulations Matches will be 10 overs per side.Powerplay: After the first 3 overs. International cricket rules will be followed. Necessary fixtures have been prepared

34th NVS-NATIONAL CRICKET MEET – 2026 -REPORT REPORT ON THE 34th NVS NATIONAL CRICKET MEET 2026 Inauguration Ceremony and Day 01 Proceedings A Celebration of Sporting Excellence, National Integration and the Spirit of Navodaya The 34th NVS National Cricket Meet 2026 was inaugurated at PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kommadi, Visakhapatnam, on 24 August 2026 amid an atmosphere of enthusiasm, sporting camaraderie and national pride. The prestigious championship, organised by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, brought together young cricketing talent from different regions of the country, providing them with a national platform to compete, interact and demonstrate the values of discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship. The championship featured teams representing the eight regions of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti in four categories—Under-14 Boys, Under-17 Boys, Under-19 Boys and Under-17 Girls. The participation of teams from different parts of the country lent the event a distinct spirit of national integration, with the young players representing not merely their respective regions but the larger ideals of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. Inauguration Ceremony Inauguration Ceremony The inaugural ceremony was graced by Shri Mathukumilli Sribharat, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), as the Chief Guest. Shri B. Chakrapani, Deputy Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Hyderabad Region, was the Guest of Honour. Principals, officials, coaches, managers, escort teachers, and members of the participating contingents were present on the occasion.

34th NVS-NATIONAL CRICKET MEET – 2026 -REPORT The ceremony commenced with the assembly of all participating contingents, setting the stage for a colourful and dignified opening to the national championship. The arrival of the dignitaries was followed by the Navodaya Prayer and a formal welcome to the guests and participating teams. The hoisting of the National Flag and the Meet Flag The hoisting of the National Flag and the Meet Flag was one of the significant moments of the ceremony. The flags symbolized the ideals of unity, integrity, discipline and sporting excellence that lie at the heart of the national-level championship. The participating contingents subsequently took part in the March Past, presenting an impressive display of discipline, coordination and confidence. The March Past also reflected the diversity of the participating regions while underscoring the common identity shared by all students as members of the Navodaya family. The inaugural programme also included the Oath Taking by the contingent leaders, the Meet Oath and other ceremonial proceedings. The formal declaration of the 34th NVS National Cricket Meet–2026 marked the commencement of the championship. 34th NVS-NATIONAL CRICKET MEET – 2026 -REPORT Shri B.Chakrapani, DeputyCommissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Hyderabad Region In his address, Shri Chakrapani briefly outlined the vision and functioning of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti and its commitment to providing quality education to talented children, particularly those from rural and diverse socio-economic backgrounds. He highlighted the distinctive residential character of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and the importance accorded to the holistic development of students through academics, sports, cultural activities and other co-curricular pursuits. He emphasised that the Navodaya Vidyalayas are not merely centres of academic learning but institutions that nurture discipline, leadership, confidence, physical fitness, teamwork and a strong sense of national integration. He observed that national-level sporting events such as the NVS National Cricket Meet provide students with a valuable platform to discover and develop their sporting abilities while learning important lessons in perseverance, cooperation, discipline and sportsmanship. Welcoming the participating contingents to Visakhapatnam, he expressed his appreciation to the teams and officials who had travelled from different parts of the country. He hoped that the championship would provide the young players with an enriching experience, memorable moments and an opportunity to build lasting friendships across regional and cultural boundaries. 34th NVS-NATIONAL CRICKET MEET – 2026 -REPORT Shri Mathukumilli Sribharat Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Shri Mathukumilli Sribharat congratulated the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti and the host institution for organising the national championship and extended his best wishes to all the participating contingents. He stressed the importance of sports in the overall development of young people. According to him, competitive sport teaches lessons that cannot always be learnt within the classroom—discipline, perseverance, resilience, teamwork, leadership and the ability to face both success and disappointment with maturity. He urged the players to approach every match with commitment and confidence while respecting the game, the officials and their opponents.

Appreciating the presence of the Under-17 Girls teams, he said that the participation of girls in a national-level cricket championship represented the true spirit of the event. He encouraged the young girls to play with confidence, compete without hesitation and make full use of the opportunities available to them. He also reminded the players that sporting achievement should not be viewed solely in terms of medals and trophies. 34th NVS-NATIONAL CRICKET MEET – 2026 -REPORT The cultural showcase began with a high-energy Thappattukolu presentation led by Master Yashwant and team, under the guidance of Shri. K. Ramayya. Characterized by synchronized traditional movements and powerful rhythmic beats, the performance introduced the audience to the region's vibrant folk art forms and energized the opening events. Thappattukolu Performance Koya Tribal Dance Following the folk drum routine, Kumari Vishnu Pravasti and team delivered a Koya Dance under the direction of Smt. Sharada, Music Teacher at PM SHRI JNV Visakhapatnam. Representing the indigenous heritage of the Koya tribal community, this feature celebrated the rich cultural diversity of the region, infusing the national sports championship with meaningful cultural depth. The inclusion of these traditional art forms was particularly significant as the championship brought together students from different regions of the country. The cultural presentations provided a platform for the host region to share its heritage with the visiting teams and reinforced the broader theme of unity in diversity.

Sutha, Chief Manager, Union Bank of India. In her interaction with the gathering, she appreciated the efforts being made by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti to promote sports and provide young students with opportunities to participate in events at the national level. She conveyed her best wishes to all the participating players and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunity, perform with confidence and uphold the values of discipline and sportsmanship throughout the championship.

Durga Prasad, Principal, PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kommadi, Visakhapatnam. In his Vote of Thanks, the Principal expressed his sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour and other dignitaries for gracing the occasion and encouraging the young sportspersons. He thanked the Deputy Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Hyderabad Region, for his guidance and support in facilitating the organisation of the national-level championship. He also acknowledged the cooperation extended by the district administration, Union Bank of India, participating Vidyalayas, coaches, managers, escort teachers, match officials, ground staff, organising committee members and all those associated with the successful conduct of the event. He extended a special welcome and best wishes to all the participating contingents and expressed the hope that the teams would have a pleasant and memorable stay in Visakhapatnam. 34th NVS-NATIONAL CRICKET MEET – 2026 -REPORT Commencement of Competitive Matches Following the inaugural proceedings, the championship moved into its competitive phase. Considerable attention had been given to the selection and preparation of playing venues in and around Visakhapatnam so that matches in the different categories could be conducted simultaneously and efficiently. Match Venues The tournament matches were distributed among several established grounds in Visakhapatnam and its surrounding areas. The venues identified for the championship included: 1. PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kommadi – School Ground – Under-17 Girls 2. Kommadi Stadium Grounds – Under-14 Boys 3. 16th Battalion Grounds – Under-14 Boys 4. Stadium B Ground – Under-19 Boys 5. Andhra University Grounds – Under-17 Boys 6. P.M. Shakthigram Grounds – Under-19 Boys 7. Raghu Engineering College Grounds – Under-19 Boys 8. SAAP Ground – selected fixtures as per the tournament schedule The availability of multiple grounds enabled the organisers to accommodate the large number of fixtures while maintaining a systematic schedule for the participating contingents. Necessary arrangements were made at the venues for the smooth movement of players and officials and for the conduct of the matches in accordance with the tournament requirements. Matches Conducted on 24 August 2026 The meet commenced right after the inaugural function on August 24, 2026. Following the tournament schedule, matches proceeded across all designated venues. Organizers successfully coordinated team transit and maintained timely starts across every category throughout the day. NVS National Cricket Tournament 2026 – Match Report The tournament commenced on August 24, 2026, immediately following the inaugural function. League matches were conducted across designated venues in Visakhapatnam, with organizers seamlessly coordinating team movements and ensuring all scheduled fixtures proceeded without delay. Under-19 Boys Category In the U19 Boys category at IIM Ground, Visakhapatnam, Lucknow U19 Boys successfully chased down Bhopal U19 Boys' total of 66/5 in 7.5 overs. In another match at the same venue, Patna U19 Boys posted 91/7 in their allotted 10 overs and restricted Jaipur U19 Boys to 71/5. * Lucknow U19 Boys defeated Bhopal U19 Boys by 8 wickets. * Patna U19 Boys defeated Jaipur U19 Boys by 20 runs.

34th NVS-NATIONAL CRICKET MEET – 2026 -REPORT Under-17 Boys Category Action at the VDCA B Ground featured Bhubaneswar U17 Boys efficiently reaching their target of 51/2 in 5.1 overs after limiting Ahmedabad U17 Boys to 50/3. Jaipur U17 Boys delivered a dominant performance by chasing Shillong U17 Boys' target of 63 without losing a single wicket. Meanwhile, Patna U17 Boys and Lucknow U17 Boys ended in a thrilling draw as both teams scored exactly 88 runs in their 10 overs. * Bhubaneswar U17 Boys defeated Ahmedabad U17 Boys by 8 wickets. * Jaipur U17 Boys defeated Shillong U17 Boys by 10 wickets. * Patna U17 Boys vs. Lucknow U17 Boys ended in a tie. 34th NVS-NATIONAL CRICKET MEET – 2026 -REPORT At Navodaya Visakhapatnam At Navodaya Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar U17 Girls scored 67/7 and defended their total by restricting Shillong U17 Girls to 43/7. At the same venue, Pune U17 Girls set a strong target of 89/2 and bowled out Ahmedabad U17 Girls for 63. Playing at the Saap ground, Lucknow U17 Girls quickly surpassed Chandigarh U17 Girls' total of 33 in just 3.5 overs. * Bhubaneswar U17 Girls defeated Shillong U17 Girls by 24 runs. * Pune U17 Girls defeated Ahmedabad U17 Girls by 26 runs. * Lucknow U17 Girls defeated Chandigarh U17 Girls by 8 wickets. Under-14 Boys Category At the SAAP ground, Patna U14 Boys put up 95/8 before dismissing Shillong U14 Boys for 16 runs. Lucknow U14 Boys scored 81/6 and held Bhopal U14 Boys to 33/8. In a closely fought fixture, Bhopal U14 Boys rebounded to chase down Shillong U14 Boys' score of 47/7 in 7.1 overs.

Chandigarh U14 Boys registered a massive 123/7, restricting Pune U14 Boys to 49/5. Finally, Bhubaneswar U14 Boys secured a win by putting up 104/6 against Hyderabad U14 Boys' reply of 72/4. * Patna U14 Boys defeated Shillong U14 Boys by 79 runs. * Jaipur U14 Boys defeated Bhubaneswar U14 Boys by 36 runs. * Lucknow U14 Boys defeated Bhopal U14 Boys by 48 runs. * Chandigarh U14 Boys defeated Pune U14 Boys by 74 runs. * Bhopal U14 Boys defeated Shillong U14 Boys by 5 wickets. * Bhubaneswar U14 Boys defeated Hyderabad U14 Boys by 32 runs. The day witnessed spirited competition among the participating teams. The participation of boys and girls from different regions, particularly the enthusiastic representation in the Under-17 Girls category, added further significance to the championship. The three-day national-level sporting event brought together talented young cricketers from different regions of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their abilities and develop the values of discipline, teamwork, healthy competition and sportsmanship. The Valedictory and Prize Distribution Ceremony was held at 5:00 PM on 26 August 2026, marking the formal conclusion of the meet and recognizing the achievements of the participating teams and individual players. PROCEEDINGS OF THE VALEDICTORY FUNCTION The Valedictory Function commenced with the assembly of the participating contingents, followed by Atithi Vandan and the Jumble March. The contingents presented themselves with discipline, enthusiasm and team spirit, creating an impressive atmosphere for the concluding ceremony. The function was graced by Shri Ganta Srinivasa Rao, MLA, Bheemili Constituency, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Smt. 34th NVS-NATIONAL CRICKET MEET – 2026 -REPORT The Welcome Address was delivered by Shri V. Durgaprasad, Principal, JNV Visakhapatnam. He extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, officials, coaches, team managers, escorts and all participating contingents. He appreciated the enthusiasm, commitment and sporting spirit displayed by the players and acknowledged the collective efforts of the organising team in ensuring the successful conduct of the event. Cultural Display – Dhimsa Dance A vibrant Dhimsa Dance was presented by Lekha and her team (Class IX students) as a part of the cultural programme. The traditional performance beautifully showcased the rich cultural heritage of the region. The graceful movements, rhythmic presentation and coordinated performance added colour and vibrancy to the valedictory ceremony and were appreciated by the dignitaries and the gathering. Dhimsa Dance Impressions of Team Managers The Team Managers shared their impressions and experiences of the National Cricket Meet. They appreciated the arrangements, hospitality, coordination and support extended by the host Vidyalaya and the organising team.

34th NVS-NATIONAL CRICKET MEET – 2026 -REPORT Overall Championship Patna secured the First Place in the Overall Championship, while Lucknow secured the Second Place. The achievement reflected the consistent performance, teamwork and competitive spirit of the participating teams. Handing Over of the Sports Flag The Sports Flag was formally handed over as part of the concluding proceedings, symbolising the successful completion of the National Cricket Meet and the continuation of the sporting tradition of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
