OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR As I reflect on this past year, I'm genuinely proud of what our team has accomplished. This has been a year of meaningful progress, not just in the day-to-day work we do, but in the way our office has continued to evolve, innovate, and show up for students, faculty, and our campus partners. Our team remained the steady, reliable front line for students navigating their academic journey, from registration and enrollment to degree certification and everything in between. That kind of consistency doesn't happen by accident; it reflects the care and expertise our staff bring to their work every single day. This was also a year of real transformation behind the scenes. We embraced new technology to work smarter and more efficiently, from AI-supported scheduling tools to a newly launched transfer credit platform that gives students clearer answers, sooner. Our College of Law team deepened its partnership with faculty and leadership, streamlining processes that had long relied on manual work. And our curriculum team successfully launched a new system that will make academic program management more transparent and collaborative for years to come. We also continued to be thoughtful stewards of compliance and integrity, from academic certification to our ongoing partnership with Athletics, where our student-athletes continued to excel both in the classroom and in their sport. None of this happens without a team that shows up with care, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to student success. As the front line for campus-wide questions, the team ensures prompt communication and efficient document processing, providing consistent, reliable support that contributes directly to student success. For Fall 2026 enrollment, the unit altered the number of simultaneous appointments to reduce the load on the system and the number of students attempting to register at the same time; specifically the Sophomore/Freshman population. The alteration resulted in no system failures and a smooth enrollment period. ACADEMIC SCHEDULING suscheduling@syr.edu DATE-TIME-ROOM REQUESTS 5,306 Via 25Live optimizer EVENT FORMS PROCESSED 835 Scheduling requests CORRESPONDENCE 1,482 Communications handled Unplaced Requests — Fall Term Comparison The effects of 25Live Optimizer use is shown by the reduction of unplaced requests for the past three Fall semesters. 25 Workflow The Registrar’s Office began leveraging AI-assisted reporting using 25Live data to analyze classroom utilization, conduct classroom inventory cleanup, and evaluate seat capacity and fill rates. This approach will assist in master planning. Working with Claude we are teaching AI how to provide graphical and analytical data to identify inefficiencies in space allocation. AI can replicate functionality by providing examples and refining that data produced. Using AI we are working to move forward to support pre planning for upcoming projects and space utilization analysis, helping identify hot spots and congested times of use across our facilities. DEGREE AUDIT SYSTEMS SCRIBE REVISION BLOCKS 1,4607.66% year over year increase for 2025-2026 catalog SYSTEM TICKETS 288 Utilizing new scribe coding shortcuts to minimize maintenance of course title changes in Degree Works. Improved the Exceptions and Requirements not met reports to provide more concise data for users and improve filtering. Completed BLOB conversion and upgrade of Degree Works to version 5.1.5.2 which improved audit functionality and reduced maintenance through new efficiencies. Training & Communication Created new training content for "Power Users" which detailed how to read Student Data Report and Diagnostic Report in Degree Works. Both tools empower users to troubleshoot questions and issues when reading the audit or processing exceptions. Students and prospective students are able to review transfer credit rules and see how courses will apply to Syracuse University undergraduate programs. Student account information is fed to Office of Admissions so student can be added to prospect list. 2,648 courses have been added by users with 895 pending courses added (no prior rule); of pending course submissions, resolution rate is 85.4%. Departments in College of Arts & Sciences and Maxwell College are reviewing student petitions through workflow. OnBase workflow captures departmental decisions and supports building new transfer rules. Work continues with OnBase team to bring workflow to all undergraduate students. Workflow enables adding to transfer credit rule bank while credits are being posted in schools and colleges. QUALITY, COMPLIANCE & ATHLETIC CERTIFICATIONS Seven teams achieved perfect APR score of 1000; women's basketball, men's basketball, women's ice hockey, women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball. Membership initiated on the AACRAO NCAA Student-Athlete Compliance and Eligibility Listserv which provides opportunities to learn and discuss best practices through quarterly meetings. These meetings offer valuable insight into how peer institutions manage athletic certification and compliances processes while also allowing us to evaluate and strengthen our own current procedures and practices. Continued to enhance the reporting database used by our colleagues in the Athletic Department. These reports are utilized daily to support student-athletes by providing timely and accurate information needed to assist with their academic and administrative needs. Unit maintained and ongoing partnership with the Athletics Compliance Office and the Student-Athlete Academic Success & Engagement Office to support incoming transfer student-athletes. Production the new CourseLeaf Curriculum Information Management system (CIM) began in September 2025, with business requirements completed in January 2026.
