MissionThe mission of All American Land Based Shark Fishing (AABLSF) is to unite active-duty military members and veterans through the powerful bond of brotherhood and sisterhood while promoting mental health, healing, and personal resilience through the experience of land-based shark fishing. At AABLSF, we recognize that many service members and veterans face invisible battles long after their time in uniform or while actively serving. Feelings of isolation, stress, anxiety, depression, and the lasting effects of trauma can impact everyday life. Our organization was created to provide a supportive community where individuals can reconnect with others who understand those challenges firsthand.Our mission extends beyond fishing. We strive to build a lasting support network that encourages open conversations about mental health, strengthens relationships among veterans and active military members, and reminds every participant that they are never alone in their journey.

Our ProgramHow It WorksAs a person privileged enough to attend the first weekend trip, I say this is a highly encouraged experience you should strive to attend. A fantastic weekend with new friends in an extremely relaxed environment left me the most relaxed I’ve been in decades. - Ken Tamberg, Retired VeteranParticipants are invited to land based shark fishing trips (both weekend and day trips are offered). The trips are all expense paid and funded by the generous donations from our sponsors and donors in addition to fundraising events hosted by AALBSF. All funds raised are utilized for the administration and execution of the trips for the participants. We offer travel reimbursement when needed, lodging, meals and all the gear needed for an amazing weekend.During the day each participant can expect a fun day of fishing and other games and activities on the beach. Each night, a firepit is lit and participants are given the space to talk about anything they have been challenged with while in the military or while transitioning back to civilian life after after completing their military service. The fishing and other additional bond building activities such as cornhole and horseshoes on the beach make the evening fireside talks more comfortable and enables the participants to open up to each other, reminding them that they are not alone in their journey. At the end of the trip, participant walk away with an awesome experience and a new network of people they can rely on.How it BeganAALBS was founded in 2025 by Christopher Israel. Christopher, a veteran with the 82nd Airborne division of the Army, understood first- hand the need for organizations that support our nation’s military members. After years of participating in some wonderful organizations that worked to promote the mental health of United States Veterans and Active Military Members, he decided to focus his time and energy on combining two of his passions, surf fishing and veteran's activities and AALBSF was born.
How To Get InvolvedThere are many ways to get involved with All American Land Based Shark Fishing and support its mission. Individuals can volunteer their time by assisting with AALBSF-sponsored events, outreach programs, and organized fishing trips, helping create meaningful experiences for participants while advancing the organization's goals.Individual supporters can also make financial contributions through the organization's website. For those interested in building a partnership with AALBSF, there are four levels of sponsorship opportunities ranging from $1,000 (Private) to $10,000 (Officer). All donated funds are used exclusively to support the mission, programs and operations of AALBSF. The organization is entirely volunteer-run and no donated funds are used to pay salaries or compensation to officers, directors or volunteers.AALBSF merchandise, including fishing shirts, hats, and other branded apparel, can be purchased through our website and through AALBSF volunteers. These purchases help promote our organization, raising awareness and generating funding for AALBSF initiatives. Through volunteering, donating, purchasing merchandise, and contributing wish list items, supporters play an important role in helping AALBSF continue its work and expand its impact.
