Message from the OwnerEstablishing Toteally Bags was not an easy task; our journey as young business owners was filled with challenges, learning, and amazing experiences. It all started with our team developing the idea of creating a tote lunch bag with an insulated compartment to store meals and keep them fresh while remaining stylish with a mix of functionality. Throughout our operation, our product line expanded to include Acacia Wood utensil sets featuring a spoon, fork, and chopsticks, serving as a sustainable companion to each Toteally bag. 5 For our business, like most small companies, our road to success has been rough and hard. We had our share of problems that hindered us from making a profit, reaching the break-even point, and even recovering from financial losses. There have been times when we felt uncertain about our efforts and commitment towards our business. However, when we look back, we came to realize as a group that success cannot depend on profits alone. In all of this journey, the true essence of the experience was found in the challenges and lessons we learned together as a group. Working day and night preparing our products and going out to sell our products at bazaars brought us closer as a group and reinforced our reasons for starting the company. Toteally Bags does not only present itself as a business, but also a story of perseverance, creativity, and hard work. We are grateful to all that we have achieved, not because of the figures in our financial statements, but because of the passion, commitment, and teamwork that goes into everything we create. As you read this coffee table book, we hope it will be much more than just a collection of products Toteally Bags has made. We are hopeful that you can sense the dedication, passion, and memories that go into every stitch we have sewn into our tote bags and every piece of wood used to make our utensil set. 18 Toteally Bags utilizes the Theory of Planned Behavior and a Theory of Change to bridge the gap between student attitudes and actual sustainable consumption. 21 Plans for the future As Toteally Bags transitions from its academic pilot into a full commercial enterprise, the venture plans to formalize its brand assets and operations by securing official intellectual property protection for its logo and signature slogan, "Pack It. Show It. Toteally Own It." To establish full legal legitimacy and access broader retail channels, the team will active-register its DTI Business Name, BIR Form 1901, and local municipal permits. Looking to the future, the brand aims to scale its product catalog through creative licensing agreements and royalty-based collaborations with student artists for limited-edition canvas prints and proprietary design features.
