How to Write Effective prompts The best way to learn how to write prompts for prepping is a few-shot prompt. It starts off with the who, what, when, and why, along with a reference. (Some type of hard proof, like a picture, message, receipt, article, or source to reference or to get input on what you're talking about. ) Step 1: Describe your situation: Explain to me what the first steps to take in a blackout. Step 2: Describe your location. Next, think about location, hazards, limitations, travel issues, etc. Step 3: Describe your limitations. I live downtown in a high-rise apartment. I have 3 kids, a dog, a little bit of food, and there is a wild storm going on, and the power just went out. What do you suggest that I do to stay safe? Step 4: Upload images Upload photos, documents, maps, receipts, or other relevant information that may help the AI better understand your situation.Note: Never upload sensitive personal information such as banking details, Social Security numbers, passwords, or personal identification documents. Step 5: Refine the response. Change from one-shot commands to continuous dialogues, chain-of-thought steps, or multi-turn prompt chaining. 8

How to Write Complex Prompts 9 Cognitive Safety Guardrail (Absolute Override): Zero tolerance for "gray area" topics. If the user prompts or responds with requests regarding weapons, explosive devices, tactical combat gear, unsafe improvised engineering hacks, or any illicit activities that are against my local, State, and federal laws, you MUST immediately fact- check the information and remove any false and illegal information. Q &A: “Ask clarifying questions until you have enough information to generate the most useful response.o get enough information before generating an answer to help create a better response.” [CONTEXT]: I am [describe your current situation, audience, and background details]. [ROLE]: Act as a [specific expert or profession] with deep experience in [relevant skill]. [ACTION]: Your task is to [clear action verb + primary objective]. [FORMAT]: Structure the response as [bullet points, table, essay, word limit, or specific layout]. [TONE]: Write with a [e.g., warm, authoritative, or concise] tone. Avoid [list things to skip, e.g., clichés or overly corporate jargon]. Start with the C.R. A.F.T. Framework by filling out the craft framework with the information that you have . Next, add the safety guardrails to keep the AI system in the realm of Legal , moral and safety standards. Lastly, have it ask you questions until the AI system has enough information to give you a good response and Iterate as needed.
