Baby Bird's Nest Finding Wings
Baby Bird's NestA story about courage, family, and finding your wings.
High in a tall green tree, there was a cozy little nest. Inside the nest lived a baby bird named Sunny. Sunny had soft yellow feathers and bright, curious eyes. Every morning, Sunny looked over the edge of the nest and wondered about the big world below. “What is out there?” Sunny chirped.
Mama Bird smiled. “The world is full of wonderful things,” she said. “There are flowers, rivers, butterflies, and friendly animals.” Sunny’s eyes grew wide. “I want to see everything!” said Sunny.
But Sunny was still very small. His wings fluttered only a little. Whenever he looked down from the nest, his tummy felt funny. “What if I fall?” he asked. Mama Bird gently tucked a feather around him. “I will help you when you’re ready.”
One sunny morning, a bright blue butterfly floated past the nest. “Hello!” called the butterfly. “Hello!” chirped Sunny. The butterfly danced through the air. Sunny wished he could fly just like that.
Every day, Sunny practiced. Flap, flap, flap! He stretched his wings. Flap, flap, flap! He grew stronger and stronger. Mama Bird watched proudly.
Soon, Sunny met many visitors. A squirrel scrambled up the tree. A ladybug landed nearby. Even a friendly rabbit stopped below. Everyone encouraged him. "You can do it, Sunny!" they cheered.
At last, the big day arrived. The sky was bright and clear. The breeze felt gentle. Sunny stood at the edge of the nest. His tiny heart beat fast.
“I don’t know if I can do it,” whispered Sunny. Mama Bird stood bride him. “You are brave.” “You are strong.” “And I will be right here.” Sunny took a deep breath.
Flap! Flap! Flap! Sunny jumped. For one moment, he felt himself falling. Then his wings caught the breeze. Whooosh! He was flying!
“I did it!” Sunny chirped joyfully. He flew around the tree. He soared over flowers. He greeted the butterfly. He waved to the rabbit below. The world was even more beautiful than he imagined.
As the sun began to set, Sunny returned to the nest. The nest still felt warm and safe. But now it felt different. Sunny knew he could explore and always come home again.
That night, Sunny snuggled beside Mama Bird. "Thank you for believing in me," he said. Mama Bird smiled. "I always did." Above them, the stars twinkled softly in the sky. And Baby Bird dreamed of tomorrow's adventures. The End
