Last Week’s Collection $11,654 Online Giving $450 *Automated Giving $1,036 Total $13,140 Dear parishioners and friends in Christ, On this Columbus Day Holiday Weekend, let us celebrate our heritage as Americans from many countries of origin, and this weekend, especially, those of Italian ancestry. All parish offices will be closed in observance of the holiday on Monday. Religious Education classes have successfully resumed and it was wonderful to welcome back our 400 young children and their parents to our program. Once again, special thanks to our volunteer catechists, who share their time and their Faith with our children. Thanks also for your support of the St. Vincent de Paul Society in their special collection. The funds collected, and those in the poor boxes at the church doors, support the good charitable work done by the SVdP Conference here in our parish. Together with our Parish Outreach, they represent all of us in tending to the needs of those less fortunate. Speaking of community needs, there will be a Blood Drive in our cafeteria on Friday, October 23rd, 2:30-7:00 p.m. We are pleased to partner with South Salem and Guggenheim Elementary Schools in sponsoring this important community service. Please consider donating blood. Registration information appears in this bulletin on page 6. Thank you for donating “the gift of life”. Plans for the Parish Party are well underway, and I am very grateful to the committee members for their enthusiasm and creativity in planning for this year’s event. Invitations were mailed out this past week to all registered parishioners. If you did not receive an invitation in the mail, you can pick one up at the church doors or the rectory office this week. And please remember to save the date, Friday, November 20th at the North Hempstead Country Club, for what promises to be a most enjoyable evening with fellow parishioners, friends and family. Our Catholic Ministries Appeal goal for 2026 is within reach, but we will need a few more generous donors to help us meet this goal. If you have not already made a gift to this very worthy Diocesan appeal, please consider doing so as we approach the end of this calendar year. Upon reaching our goal, a much-needed rebate will help offset the increasing operating expenses here in our own parish. With the chill in the autumn air, the time has come to turn on the heat in our many buildings. Your generosity in our weekly collections will keep us all comfortable in the winter months before us. Have a great week, and God bless you! Devotedly yours in Christ, Msgr.
