This booklet presents the V&M Art Gallery, which opened in 2023 as a permanent home for the private collection of Vincent and Marina D'Aguilar. It is managed by the D'Aguilar Art Foundation, directed by Saskia D'Aguilar. The gallery was built after Hurricane Dorian to be resilient and climate-controlled, preserving Bahamian art.
The main gallery features several themed rooms: the Portrait Room, Junkanoo Room, Amos Ferguson Room, Amulet Room, Black and White Room, Uncensored Room, and Office and Storage Room. Each room showcases specific artworks and artists.
The Vincent and Marina section includes portraits of the collectors by Bahamian and international artists. Artists featured include John Edward Cox, Ricardo Knowles, Kendal Hanna, and others. The booklet describes artworks like John Cox's 'Vincent' (2008) and a bronze bust by David Williams-Ellis.
The booklet lists artworks on the east and west walls, including portraits by Malcolm Rae, Maxwell Taylor, Lynn Parotti, and Brent Malone. It also mentions a framed handwritten note by Vincent D'Aguilar about artistic insight.
Additional sections cover the ground floor restroom with works by Jackson Burnside III, Imogene Walkine, and Danielle Brown. The booklet provides artist biographies and artwork details throughout.
