General Introduction The Eulogio "Amang" Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program is integrated into the EARIST curriculum in order to provide college students with the opportunity to gain real working experience and learn the practical application of the concepts and theories that they have learned in school. The OJT Program aims to build the professional skills of students and provide them with work related experience in their chosen field of specialization. Students learn through participation in various work-related activities, and this helps students develop their technical, communication, and other related work skills, as well as their work attitudes and human relations. The students also learn the qualities of self-confidence, self-discipline, and self-control, as well as how to be flexible and adapt to different work situations.

Students learn the operations of a work organization, as well as the standards and practices of a profession. Through the training, students also learn the importance of being productive and responsible, as well as becoming efficient, to be successful in their profession. The EARIST On-the-Job Training Program The EARIST On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program plays an important role in the professional and personal development of student trainees. It provides students with opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the classroom to actual workplace situations. Through hands-on experiences, trainees gain practical knowledge, develop technical competencies, and improve their communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The program also helps students become familiar with professional work ethics, responsibilities, and organizational practices. By exposing trainees to real-world environments, the OJT Program prepares them for future employment and enhances their confidence, adaptability, and readiness to meet the demands of their chosen careers.

Preparation for On-the-Job Training The Applied Physics student went through a thorough process in preparation for their On-the-Job Training (OJT) to ensure that they are fully equipped and prepared for their practical industrial experience. The preparation included a series of activities and requirements designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge. Program of Activities The program of activities aimed at preparing students comprehensively: ● Three-week Lesson: Before the internship, the students participated in a three-week series of preparatory sessions that focused on essential workplace skills and professional development. The sessions included resume writing, proper workplace decorum, and narrative report writing. Students were guided on how to prepare a professional resume that effectively presented their educational background, skills, and qualifications. They were also taught the importance of proper workplace etiquette, including appropriate communication,

punctuality, respect, teamwork, and professional behavior in an organizational setting. Students learned the proper format and guidelines for writing a narrative report, which is one of the major documentary requirements during the internship. These lessons helped them improve their writing and documentation skills while preparing them to produce organized and comprehensive reports based on their OJT experiences. As part of the preparatory program, three additional sessions were also conducted to further strengthen the students' readiness for the internship. These sessions provided practical knowledge, valuable insights, and professional guidance that enhanced the students' confidence and prepared them for the expectations and challenges they would encounter in their respective training institutions. ● Qualifying Examination: Applied Physics students took this exam covering their major subjects: Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Optics, and Electricity and Magnetism, to evaluate

their academic knowledge before starting their internship. ● Mock Interview and Psychological Test: To prepare the students for the recruitment process, a mock interview was conducted in collaboration with the Psychology students. During the activity, the Psychology students served as interviewers and simulated actual job interviews by asking common employment-related questions. This exercise allowed the Applied Physics students to practice answering interview questions confidently, improve their communication skills, and develop professionalism in presenting themselves to potential employers. Following the mock interview, the students also completed a psychological test administered by the Psychology students. The assessment evaluated various aspects of the students' personalities, emotional stability, decision-making abilities, interpersonal skills, and overall readiness for a professional work environment. The results

provided valuable feedback that helped the students recognize their strengths and identify areas for personal and professional improvement. ● Job Fair: The students participated in a Job Fair organized by the institution, where various companies and organizations introduced their internship and employment opportunities. During the event, students visited different company booths, learned about the nature of their businesses, and became familiar with their qualifications, application procedures, and workplace expectations. The Job Fair also provided an opportunity for students to submit resumes, interact directly with company representatives, ask questions regarding internship programs, and establish professional connections. This activity enhanced their understanding of current industry demands and helped them identify organizations that matched their academic background and career interests.

● Internship Orientation: Before deployment, the students attended an Internship Orientation that provided comprehensive information regarding the policies, requirements, and expectations of the On-the-Job Training program. The orientation revisited important topics such as resume writing, workplace decorum, narrative report preparation, and professional ethics while emphasizing the responsibilities of student interns. The orientation also discussed attendance policies, proper documentation, required reports, evaluation procedures, workplace safety, confidentiality, and appropriate conduct during the internship. Students were reminded to represent the university professionally, follow company rules and regulations, maintain discipline, and demonstrate integrity throughout their training period. The program of activities successfully equipped the students with the knowledge, practical skills, confidence, and professional attitude

necessary to perform effectively during their internship and prepare them for future employment.
