5 steps to success using this template 17 1. Additional slide layout options To add a new slide with a different slide layout, click the New Slide dropdown menu from the Home tab on the ribbon. 2. Using assets to build slides Within the template you will find some brand assets (colours and logos) which will help you build consistent content. We also have a separate slide deck which includes a variety of design assets such as icons, call-outs, quote boxes etc. These can be copied and pasted into your working slides to help ensure your content is engaging and on brand. 3. Pasting in content from other presentations For the sake of consistency, it is best to avoid pasting entire slides in from other presentations, unless they are based on the same template. It is best to copy and paste the specific content in rather than pasting the entire slide. 4. Adding images Some slides in the template will have an option to insert images where you see this icon: To use this feature, click the icon, browse to the picture that you want to insert, click that picture, and then click Insert. You can also copy and paste images into your slides, but this way will not retain the position, size, and shape of the placeholder within the template. Wherever possible you should use photos of our own people and facilities which can be found in Brandbank. 5. Compressing images Select an image, go to Picture Format on the top ribbon and choose Compress Pictures. In the compression window you can reduce the resolution to reduce the file size, however we don’t recommend going below 150ppi as any lower can make images look pixelated and unprofessional. Important to remember: • When building a new presentation, always start with a new template to ensure you are using the most up to date version. • Always retain the mandatory closing (Thank You) slide within your presentations as it includes our copyright disclaimer. • Please delete the hidden guidance and brand assets slides when you have completed building your deck. • Presentations shared externally should only be shared as a pdf document.
