CONCEPT THE DESPERATE CORE It is a concept that focuses on reconnecting people, especially the younger generation, with Ethiopia's culture and history, which have been neglected over time. The idea is to create a space that helps people rediscover their country’s rich past and learn about it in an engaging way. MAJOR AIM The Plotline District focuses on how Ethiopia’s culture and history have been ignored over time, causing people to lose interest in their country and stop feeling patriotic. 16M 12M 8M 4M ROOF SKYLIGHT OPEN DOWN FRAME TIMBER STRUCTURE THE MAIN CORE Monolithic stone structure that holds the engravings of the four pillars of culture to create an interesting visual story telling while users circulate within the building. ENVELOPE EXTERIOR The envelope that shows the desperation of the core on the exterior. Holding the engravings of culture as a whole and speaking the reality of it towards the community. This structure holds the open down frames and provide aesthetic beauty within the interior Concave structure that recieves light from the skylight and deflects it towards the floors for more natural daylight. Demanding in a less energy use.
