THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF Sheila Ann Richardson Sheila Ann Carter Richardson was born on August 1, 1965, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late James Carter and Lillian Mae Carter. She grew up surrounded by family, faith, and love, values that remained at the center of her life. Sheila shared a close bond with her siblings, Denise Carter-Williams, Brenda Carter, and Michael Carter. She later married the love of her life, Thomas Richardson, and together they shared 38 years of marriage. Their union was blessed with three children, Angela Richardson Brooks, Marcus Richardson, and Danielle Richardson, and five grandchildren, Jaylen Brooks, Naomi Brooks, Caleb Richardson, Amari Richardson, and Zoe Matthews, who brought her great joy. For more than 30 years, Sheila worked as a patient care coordinator at Memorial Regional Medical Center, where she was known for her kindness, compassion, and ability to make others feel cared for. She was also a faithful member of Faith Temple Missionary Baptist Church, serving with the Hospitality Ministry and Women’s Choir. Sheila enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, decorating, listening to gospel and old-school R&B, and spending time with family. She was warm, funny, stylish, outspoken, generous, dependable, and deeply devoted to those she loved. On August 1, 2026, Sheila completed her earthly journey. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, church family, friends, coworkers, and all whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Carter and Lillian Mae Carter. Though she is no longer with us in person, Sheila’s love, laughter, strength, and legacy will remain forever in our hearts.
TToday, we gather to honor and celebrate the life of Sheila Ann Richardson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and woman of faith. Sheila was known for her strength, kindness, humor, honesty, and deep love for her family. She devoted more than 30 years to caring for others as a patient care coordinator, always offering compassion and comfort to those who needed it. Sheila’s greatest joy was her family. She encouraged them to stay close, support one another, keep their faith, and never miss an opportunity to say, “I love you.” Though her earthly journey has ended, her love, lessons, laughter, and legacy will continue through everyone whose life she touched. Today, we do not simply say goodbye. We say thank you for the memories, the love, and the years we were blessed to share. Sheila Ann Richardson will remain Forever In Our Hearts.
