ABOUTABOUT USUS ABOUT US Established in 2002, Koop.Works is the official student publication of the Department of Cooperatives and Social Development (DCSD) of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. It was founded following the department's transition from the former Institute of Cooperatives (IC) and initially operated under the Junior Cooperators Association (JCA) in coordination with the College Student Council. Since its inception, Koop.Works has served as a platform for student journalism, documenting the department's milestones, achievements, and participation in academic, organizational, and cooperative-related activities. Its pages have featured stories on cooperative congresses, university-wide activities, and other events that shape the cooperative community. The publication's original name, Koop@Works, was conceptualized by Dr. Angelita Villaruel and Dr. Hermie Manlimtim, faculty members of the former Institute of Cooperatives. It was later renamed Koop.Works—a title that reflects the publication's commitment to producing meaningful stories that inform, engage, and inspire. Today, Koop.Works continues its legacy as an independent student publication managed by the elected members of its Editorial Board. Committed to truthful, responsible, and community-centered journalism, it remains dedicated to amplifying student voices and promoting the values of cooperation, leadership, and social development.
