Casting Auditions are required for lead roles and Senior Company to ensure fair casting and provide essential audition experience. A judges panel will score dancers based on their audition and take into consideration attendance history and class participation. Costumes Tuition and costume balances must be paid before fittings No eating or drinking (except water) while in costume Full Company Rehearsals Two ʻfull company rehearsals’ a.k.a. ʻall-cast rehearsals’ will take place a week or two before the performance. These rehearsals are mandatory and occur on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with call and dismissal times occuring from 5PM through 10PM. We will run Act 2 first, then run Act 1. We make a strong effort to get the younger dancers dismissed as early as possible. Dress Rehearsals For both our Nutcracker and Spring Performance, we will have two dress rehearsals, occuring on the Wednesday and Thursday evening prior to the performance. These dress rehearsals will be in full costume, hair and makeup. Call times begin as early as 4PM and continue throughout the evening. Dress rehearsals are typically done no later than 11PM, with most of the youngest dancers typically being dismissed before 10PM. Arrival and Drop-Off Procedures Grade 5 and Sr. Company are required to attend performance warm-ups and masterclasses. Dancers are not permitted to miss a dress rehearsal or full company rehearsal. It is not acceptable to arrive late to show/rehearsal call times. Hair and make-up guidelines must be followed. Dancers should arrive with hair and makeup done. Extra Makeup, bobby-pins, tights and hairspray should be sent backstage with your dancer. Parents will drop dancers off at the backstage door and initial by their dancer’s name. Students will then be escorted backstage to their ʻbackstage mom’. Backstage Parents must be signed up to volunteer and have submitted their clearances to be permitted backstage. Our performances are not possible without the help of our dance families. All families are expected to volunteer at some point during the season. There are plenty of ways to get involved. Let us know if you have special skills!
