Jake’s room was a mess. There were old comics, dusty games and football trophies everywhere.

The only sound was the gentle snores of Jake and Connor.

Connor was a fidgety 12 year old boy who loved gaming, football and food. They were having a sleepover after a chill movie night. Next to Connor’s brown mop was a copy of Holes written by Louis Sachar. Suddenly, they each opened one eye as a bang jolted them awake.

Strangely, Connor noticed a strange, creepy figure moving through the creaking window.

Warning, the figure fell over the hundreds of copies of comics stacked up in the corner. He swooped around on his thin legs, while the boys sat there in shock. Still in shock, the boys tried to fall asleep before the scary man saw them awake.

Asleep dreaming of Holes, the boys woke up digging a hole 5 feet down and 5 feet across. Halfway down, he had to find another shovel since it broke in half.

As he reached 4 feet, there was a big issue. He saw a glowing huge red eye, piercing through inside him.

Frightened, Connor tried to climb up the hole...but got caught by the mysterious creature.

Kicking and thrashing, he screamed “Let go of me you weird thing!” Still kicking he managed to escape and find a secret hidden corner to hide in. Thinking about his shovel that he hit the creature with. The Dream Giver heard the screams for help and went to see what it was.

As the Dream Giver swooped into the portal, he landed horribly on the floor.

Searching for the similar hole, the snake jumped out at him. Finding the boy, the hole slowly sunk, gripping the boy the Dream Giver flew...

“Please help me!” begged Connor. “I’m trying to!” said the dream giver flying around. “Let’s quickly get out of here” replied the boy. “Yes!” the Dream Giver said in a desperate mutter.

In Connor’s bed, the Dream Giver whispers, “Get to sleep!” Still by Connor’s mop was the book they were in. Without a trace, the dream giver left with no evidence remaining.
