DIRTY WORK came from one of my favourite group’s album name and song, its lyrics punches gut, at least for me. For some reason, I want to relate it with this issue, as I cover my own journey in a new university environment I have entered. As the lyrics had said, “Just ‘cause I’m pretty doesn’t mean I don’t do hard things,” indicates how I face this journey with ARC—especially that it is my first time encountering a concept like this. Despite the challenges inside, my desire to work hard still prevailed. With this, I will continue to go with this flow I am taking and write the journey. I am honoured to dedicate this magazine to tell my story. With each page, I aim to retell and feature our journey. This issue is a reflection of my voice. The Charoite emblem proudly anchors the main bodywork, following the white streaks and flowing pattern that shapes the car. These details are inspired by the Shard’s natural patterns and give the car a sense of movement. Both colors used keeps the structure closely tied to the identity of Charoite. With the strong face of the violet fox pasted on the barge board, it symbolizes the spirit animal of the Shard, embodying its values: adaptability, resilence, and vision.Built around the Shard’s motro, “Through Change, We Rise,” this car is engineered to adapt and the Charoite’s ability to more through change without losing its direction. Like an F1 car that conquers every apex without losing momentum, Charoite adjusts, moves forward, and charges relentlessly toward what lies ahead.Along with starting the car’s engine, its revving can also signal the beginning of a new journey ahead. For Archridge Prime, this journey began anew as it officially unveiled its third cycle last August 13, welcoming its former students, new students, and returnees who had been waiting for the reopening of the institution. With the third cycle carrying a Formula-1 (F1) inspired theme, officials took the players on a new trip filled with competition, teamwork, and challenges. The opening served not only as a welcome to yet another cycle, but also an opportunity for students to reconnect with one another and become part of the cycle and community once again. One of the highlighted activities during the opening was the car-building challenge, where students from each Shard came together to conceptualize and design their own race car. It is more than simply putting together pieces to create a finished vehicle, the activity itself challenges each student and Shards to showcase its identity through its design while working toward the same goal. Among the competing Shards, Charoite emerged as the winner, taking home first place at the end of the event. Their plum car radiated through its distinct designs incorporated into each part, with every detail carrying a corresponding meaning that represents them. The finished vehicle became more than a product of the players’ creativity; it reflected their ability to work together, sharing ideas, and connection. www.reallygreatsite.comEvery winning team needs more than a fast car. Behind every turn, every decision, and every finish line is a crew working together to keep everything and everyone moving. For Shard Charoite, the crew comes in the form of six officers who help forge their Shard through the new cycle, together with their Shardkeeper. From the front grid that leads the pack, Miloslav, Charoite’s Head Prefect, carries the responsibility of keeping the Shard on track and guides the players and making sure everyone has a place in the journey. Beside him are Nayumi and Naoise, the Shard’s Prefects; as the right hands of the pack, the two help in keeping the team organized and moving in the same direction. While the race may only have one driver, it takes an entire team to make sure the car reaches the black and white flag. Every team also needs someone who keeps the track. There’s Kiwi, the Shard’s very own Scribe; behind every excitement, competitions, and activities, is someone making sure important notes and information does not get lost along the way. Kiwi helps document the Shard’s journey. Yet, what is a team without visual storytellers? Truxxe and Vienise are Charoite’s very own Editors, who polish the Shard’s visual and voice. Through their art skills, they help the team drive the track. Together, Miloslav, Nayumi, Naoise, Kiwi, Truxxe, and Vienise form the crew behind Shard Charoite. But without the Shardkeeper, they would be nothing—as they guide the Charoite’s player, behind them is Miss Ezsien that guides them well. With their officers and Shardkeeper at the front, Charoite is always ready to shift gears and take on the next challenge to bring their team more winnings.SPOTLIGHT: Plum’s Pillar Crew
HOW NM WORKSFrom the eye of a new player.As a new student, with little prior knowledge of how the university works, I entered Archridge Prime (ARC) and joined the cycle with more questions than answers. Thanks to my friend who introduced me to ARC, I slowly began to understand and discovered how different this university could be from what I initially expected. Among the systems I’ve encountered inside, one particular feature gave me the most goosubumps—the Night Market (NM) At first glance, NM sounds like an ordinary virtual market for points, however, within ARC, NM functions as a virtual market where players can purchase items that can affect their journey throughout the cycle. Their system really becomes interesting as they follow the concept of a Massively Multiplayer Online Role- Playing Game (MMORPG), that allows students to navigate the university as if they were characters in an online role-playing game. With the concept of MMORPG, players or the students do not just simply exist in the game—they collect experience points (EXP), wherein they can convert it into Night Coins (NC) that can make them acquire items, they encounter challenges, compete with other players and side quests through Trails of Valor, Relic of The Day, and Missions that has corresponding points. Furthermore, through NM, players have the opportunity to steal another player’s EXP or points. For a new student like me, the idea alone can be both exciting and intimidating. After all, EXP is the result of all your efforts. Just one wrong move or an unfortunate encounter with another player could mean losing points that you have spent endless nights collecting. However, players are not completely defenseless, as NM also offers shields that can protect players from having their EXP stolen. Both items are available only in limited stocks—and that’s the most nerve-wracking experience, you’ll fight in line to acquire your desired item. Perhaps, that is the charm of Archridge’s Night Market—you never quite know what awaits you when you enter. Better keep an eye on your EXP, players. Entertainment
