CHAPTER 1
INTERESTS Recently, my biggest interests have been learning about my culture and volunteering. These interests have shaped my personality and my writing style. Interests
ValuesI value respect, kindness, and treating people fairly. I believe everyone deserves to feel included. These values have helped me narrow my future career options and where to study for post- secondary.
Strengths Recently, I think my biggest strength has become writing. I looked back on my assignments and realized the progress I have made throughout the course. Now, I can summarize and connect my thoughts when writing in my reflections. I think that I have become more expressive when writing, and it shows in my reflections.
Skills Communicating is one of my biggest skills. I have demonstrated this skill through writing in my Google Slides for my “Financial Toolkit” presentation and reflections like the “Instructions for a Bad Day”. My communication skills have improved throughout this course and will continue to improve for my future career.
CHAPTER 2
My pathwayAfter exploring my options for post- secondary education and researching. My two final options were Western University or Fanshawe College. I decided on Fanshawe because the tuition was cheaper, and the program I wanted to become a sonographer wasn’t at Western (medical radiation technology). I was also very fascinated by the campus and the location. Since it’s closer to me, it’s easier to live with my parents, and the view is beautiful.
How careers has changed meTaking this course has made me learn so much about my preferences. For example, before exploring my career options, I didn’t know the cons of the career I wanted or the program I wanted to go into. Careers have taught me a lot about myself. I learned how to budget for post-secondary and how to create a logo. Careers also made me realize my potential if I work hard enough.
MY BUDGET Before starting this course, I never considered my budget or how much post-secondary education costs. I thought I would be able to figure it out when I was older, but it turns out planning early helps a lot. I’ve realized that to avoid constantly stressing about future expenses and education costs, I need to plan. By doing the budgeting sheet, I learned how to budget properly and how to become prepared for post-secondary. I also learned that applying for things like scholarships helps reduce the cost of education.

CHAPTER 3
Innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship This course has allowed me to develop my Innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship skills through Google Slides and Canva. In the future, this will allow me to make online presentations easier without stressing.
Communication In this course, we use communication a lot. This makes it important to improve my communication skills. Throughout this course, I improved my communication skills through emails and send my teacher, the Google Meets, and writing in the discussions. I learned how to ask better-phrased questions and when to ask.
Technolgical fluency When I branded myself. I learned how to edit and use multiple websites, like Adobe and Logomaker. This helped me realize that if you’re determined to create a brand, you can do it. In the future, this will help me better understand design when working with patients. Logo Business card
Self-directed learning Taking an online course has helped me significantly. Usually, when I am in school, I ask teachers for help when doing something like using a new website. But when I am in an online course, I have to be able to teach myself. I learned a lot of things throughout the course that will help with my future career or education, like building a cover letter and resume. To be able to build a resume or cover letter, I needed to watch a YouTube tutorial.
CHAPTER 4
I plan my work by using my notes app. Although it might not sound as effective, it is. This makes me feel less hectic and stressed. It also looks really neat, so it gives me a better visual. I double-space everything and bold work that is due. Planning Example: Career portfolio culminating due Self-study English Math
CHAPTER 5
When I had classes in grade 9, I would always do my work at the last minute, so to fix that problem, I started forcing myself to open my laptop and do my work for 30 minutes after school. Before starting my goal, I determined how long I could last by figuring out when I start to lose focus.Short term-goals
MY PLAN Make someone take my phone away- family, siblings, or friends Make a schedule of things that need to be done before doing something fun like hanging out with friends or going to events. Find a quiet place to do work with no distractions. Fake the due dates for motivation
Long-term goalsMy long-term goals are to maintain an average of 90% throughout high school and post-secondary. I believe I am able to achieve my goal by working really hard.
MY PLAN Ask the teacher a lot of questions to understand the topic more Go to VMAP( tutoring program) everyday after school Ask the teacher for practice sheets before tests
CHAPTER 6
I have started noticing that technology like AI has started becoming more common in school and at work. Many works are now starting to require digital skills, so learning how to use technology responsibly is becoming more important. I believe that our world is evolving in digital technology more than we think. This made me realize that in the future the career of my choice is likely to require it. Technology
CHAPTER 7
Then vs Now Then: Now: Unsure of what career to choose Unsure of how to budget and where to receive financial assitance Struggling to apply feedback effectively Have a resume and cover letter built I know what to expect from post-secondary education I know what career I wanna pursue
Critera I considered Implementing previous feedback I reicieved How it affects my future career and thoughts Putting image and and making it unique My grades on each of the assignments in the course
I think I would rate my personal readiness a 7/10. I think that I still need to improve in some areas, like my budget, but overall I think my financial toolkit and exploring my options have readied me for post- secondary. My Rating
