We are thrilled to have the honor of chairing this amazing evening that will help support life-changing programs at The Centers — specifically the Human Trafficking Treatment Program. As parents of two young boys, this topic is heavy on our hearts. As the oldest continuously operating nonprofit in Arkansas, The Centers is a national resource center for victims of human trafficking, providing intervention in the lives of individuals who have been sexually exploited. According to the United Nations’ International Labour Organization, an estimated 27.6 million people worldwide become victims each year. But human trafficking isn’t just something on the news in far away places — it’s happening close to home. We urge you to help us raise awareness, challenge perceptions, and promote prevention. In addition to advocating for laws that protect victims and participating in numerous task forces and law enforcement efforts, a full range of services are provided by The Centers: Safe, secure residential dorms for ages 10-17, as well as food, clothing, and transportation Activities like on-site gardening, trauma-informed yoga, physical exercise, and art therapy Individual, group, and family therapy, substance use treatment, medication management by in-house physicians, and 24-hour nursing and paraprofessional services Access to an adjacent medical clinic and full-service pharmacy State Department of Education approved, on-campus schooling, case management, structured recreational activities, life-skills development, financial literacy, and cooking classes To help facilitate the above, we need friends like you to help by joining us as a sponsor, donor, or guest on May 22, 2027.
