Our CommitmentFostering holistic education for underpriviledged children in ChennaiHOPE foundation Matriculation High School was established with a vision to provide quality education to children from underserved and marginalized communities who otherwise would have limited access to learning opportunities. Located in the Kannaginagar Slum Rehabilitation Colony in Chennai, the school was founded to address the educational gap created when families were relocated to this area, leaving many children without stable access to schooling. Since its inception, the school has remained committed to ensuring that every child receives not only formal education but also the opportunities needed to grow into confident, capable, and responsible individuals. At HOPE foundation School, education is viewed as a holistic process that nurtures the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of every student. Along with strong academic instruction, the school actively promotes exposure to technology, sports, scientific inquiry, leadership development, and experiential learning. These opportunities allow students to discover their talents, develop essential life skills, and build the confidence required to pursue higher education and meaningful careers. Programs highlighted in this report include Computer Education, Robotics Learning, Science Exhibitions, and Sports Development. This report reflects the school’s commitment to preparing students for a rapidly changing world. By integrating digital literacy, innovation, teamwork, and physical well-being into the learning environment, the school ensures that students receive a well- rounded education that goes beyond textbooks. Computer Education Our computer education program aimed to equip 500 students with essential ICT skills, enabling them to thrive in today's digital landscape and fostering a passion for technology. 370 students from the school and 130 students from the community got benefitted through this progarm 370+ students from the school & 130+ students from the community were trained in Computer Education. 100% completed Computer Education

Class-wise Computer Learning Activities The curriculum was designed to introduce computer concepts gradually, starting with basic computer awareness for primary students and progressing to programming and web development skills for high school students. Primary Level (Classes 1–3) Upper Primary Level (Classes 4–5) Middle School Level (Classes 6–7)Students progressed to more advanced computer applications such as presentations and data management. Key topics included: Class 6 Creating presentations using MS PowerPoint Applying transition and animation effects Creating photo albums Inserting video and audio in presentations Understanding Excel worksheets, workbooks, and cell references Creating simple databases Class 7 Understanding Excel menus and ribbons Using formulas such as SUM and AVERAGE Creating charts, bar diagrams, and line graphs Learning Cyber Safety Introduction to Scratch coding Students gained hands-on experience by creating presentations, charts, and simple data sheets during practical sessions.Students at this level began learning how to use computers as tools for creating and organizing information. Topics covered included: Understanding desktop interface and icons Document formatting in MS Word Creating tables in MS Word Learning File Explorer Introduction to Algorithms and Flowcharts Through practical sessions, students learned how to create simple documents and organize files on the computer.At the primary level, students were introduced to computers as intelligent machines and learned the fundamentals of computer usage. Students learned to: Identify different parts of a computer Understand input and output devices Differentiate between hardware and software Use the computer for basic activities Create simple drawings using MS Paint These sessions helped young learners become familiar with computers and develop confidence in using them.

High School Level (Classes 8–10) Integration of Practical Learning Computer ExaminationsStudents were regularly assessed to evaluate their learning progress. Primary students (Classes 1–5) completed their computer examinations during the month. High school students (Classes 6–10) completed their Terminal-I computer examinations, which included both written and practical components. At the end of the academic year, all students from Classes 1 to 10 successfully completed their computer science written and practical examinations, marking the successful completion of the computer education program for the year.The computer teachers designed the program in a way that it ensured all the students gain hands-on experience along with theoretical knowledge.Students at the high school level were introduced to web designing using HTML. Topics covered included: Basic structure of HTML Understanding elements and attributes Writing simple HTML programs Changing background colours and font colours Inserting images and links in web pages Creating simple webpages These lessons helped students understand how websites are created and how coding works at a basic level.For community students, a 3 month course was design with 25 students per batch. Over the year 100 students regularly received hands on training. This program also included Summer Crash Course where 30 students from 11th onwards availed this offer and learnt the basis of computers in one month. Students practiced various activities in the computer lab, including: Creating documents, tables, and presentations Preparing charts and spreadsheets Designing simple webpages using HTML Creating simple databases in Excel These practical activities helped students strengthen their understanding of digital tools and apply their knowledge effectively. Volunteers Visit to HOPE School HOPE foundation had the honour of hosting RELX Care Elsevier volunteers for the Annual Donor Appreciation Engagement Program on 10 Sept 2025. This visit created a meaningful platform for students and donors to connect, transforming support into a more personal and inspiring experience. 39 volunteers’ active participation brought immense enthusiasm and encouragement to the students. Through engaging sports and fun activities, students were able to build confidence, strengthen teamwork, and express their abilities in a joyful environment. More importantly, the interaction helped students feel valued and recognized, reinforcing their sense of self-worth. Such engagements play a crucial role in broadening students’ exposure, allowing them to interact with professionals and aspire towards greater opportunities. At the same time, it deepens the donors’ understanding of the impact they create, strengthening their connection with the students and the institution. th

The annual Science Exhibition at HOPE foundation Matriculation High School was a vibrant celebration of scientific curiosity and innovation. This event invited students to delve into various scientific concepts and present their findings through engaging projects. Students collaborated in teams to explore topics ranging from environmental science to physics, fostering critical thinking and creativity. This exhibition served not only as a platform for students to showcase their hard work but also as an opportunity for the community to engage and learn from these budding scientists. Parents, teachers, and peers come together to celebrate achievements, encouraging a culture of collaboration and inquiry. Special awards were presented to outstanding projects, motivating students to pursue their interests in science. The Science Exhibition embodies the school's mission to cultivate a passion for learning and discovery among underserved children in Chennai. Orientation on “Read To Me” English Helper App To further support students in improving their reading skills, an orientation session on the “Read To Me” English Helper App was introduced. All the teachers were trained on: Understanding the English Helper “Read To Me” App and its benefits. How to download and access the teacher dashboard Installation of the Read To Me School Edition Using the app effectively in classroom teaching Teachers were educated on the various useful tools that would support students in improving their English reading and comprehension skills. Tools include: Read Me Tool – Allows students to listen to and read the text multiple times. Translate Tool – Helps students understand difficult words by translating them into their own language. Picture Dictionary – Explains new words with visual images. Pronunciation Tool – Helps students learn the correct pronunciation of words. English Dictionary – Provides meaning and explanations for unfamiliar words. Spell Word Tool – Helps students practice spelling. By integrating technology with learning, the ‘Read To Me’ app has opened new pathways for students to enhance their language and comprehension skills.

Chennai South Zonal Sports Meet Students of HOPE School participated in the Chennai South Zonal Sports Meet, held between 4 July and 8 August 2025, competing against more than 35 schools. A total of 106 students represented the school in different sports categories, demonstrating remarkable dedication, teamwork, and competitive spirit. th th Students participated in various events including: Volleyball Handball Hockey Badminton Tennikoit Carrom Athletics The school achieved several notable results in the zonal competitions. Students travelled to various place like Thiruvanmiyur, Vettuvankani, Shollinganallur and Perungudi between July 4 to August 8 , 2025 to participate in these matches. th thMajor Achievements:- Under-17 Boys Hockey Team – Winners, qualifying for the District Tournament Under-14 Hockey Team – Runners-up Under-17 Boys Badminton – Runners-up Under-17 Carrom (Boys) – 3rd Place Under-11 Boys Badminton – 5th Place Under-14 Girls Tennikoit (Singles) – 3rd Place Under-17 Girls Tennikoit (Doubles) – Runners-up Under-14 Girls Volleyball – Runners-up Under-17 Girls Volleyball – Runners-up The outstanding performances of the students brought pride to the school and demonstrated the effectiveness of the school’s commitment to promoting sports and physical development.

State Level Silambam CompetitionMs. Joshini from class 10 represented the district at the RD/BD State Level Silambam Competition, held at Theni on 3 Jan 2026. She successfully progressed through two rounds and reached the third round, demonstrating remarkable skill and determination. rd Although she narrowly missed advancing further, reaching the state level was a significant achievement. The school management congratulated her during the school assembly and awarded her a certificate in recognition of her performance.Interschool Volleyball Tournament The school volleyball team also participated in the Chennai Kaurs Interschool Volleyball Tournament. The Classical Category match, held on 28 Jan 2026, saw the team reach the Quarter Finals. th The Elite Category, held on 29 Jan 2026, also witnessed strong participation from the school team. th The students represented the school with excellent sportsmanship and teamwork. They travelled all the way to Velachery to play this tournament. Ms. Joshini (Class 10), who won a Gold Medal in the Above 60 kg category at the RDG District Level Silambam Competition. Her exceptional performance earned her the opportunity to represent the district at the State Level Silambam Competition. Special Highlight

Carrom Tournament Tamil Nadu Carrom Association On 15 Aug 2025, the school hosted a Carrom Tournament organized by the Tamil Nadu Carrom Association, led by Mr. Parveen Kumar, the President of the Association. th Several teams participated in the tournament, which was conducted in a knockout format, creating an exciting and competitive atmosphere. HOPE School team performed exceptionally well, with the following students securing First Place: Varun (Class 7) Yuvaraj (Class 9) Jai (Class 9) Pooja Sri (Class 7) The second place was secured by students from Muttaikaran Chavadi Middle School, Chennai. Additionally, Sandeep (Class 10) received a special prize carrom striker for his outstanding performance.CM Trophy Tournament 2025 Students of HOPE School also participated in the prestigious Chief Minister’s Trophy Tournament 2025, held at Nehru Indoor Stadium, which saw participation from 57 teams across the state. Key achievements included: Under-17 Boys Hockey Team – Reached Quarter Finals Under-17 Girls Volleyball Team – Reached Quarter Finals Under-14 & Under-17 Silambam – Reached Semi Finals Although the students narrowly missed advancing further, their performance showcased impressive skills and determination. All the participants travelled to Nehru Indoor Stadium , Chennai Central. The students’ impressive performances not only brought laurels to the school but also demonstrated the importance of integrating sports into holistic education.

Scouts and Guides – Tritiya Sopan Testing Camp Fifteen students from the school participated in the Tritiya Sopan Testing Camp – Chennai Zone, conducted from 23 Jan to 25 Jan 2026 at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Perambur. rd th This camp provided a platform for students to demonstrate their knowledge, leadership abilities, and commitment to the principles of Scouting. Various tests and activities were conducted under the guidance of experienced district trainers. The participation of the students helped strengthen qualities such as: Leadership Teamwork Discipline Community service The camp concluded successfully, leaving the students motivated and inspired.Beach Volleyball Zonal Tournament HOPE school teams under various categories participated in the Beach Volleyball Zonal Tournament held on 26 Aug 2025 at St. Joseph Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vettuvankani. th The students displayed excellent teamwork and competitive spirit, achieving commendable results: Under-14 Girls Volleyball Team – Runners-up Under-17 Girls Volleyball Team – Runners-up Under-14 Boys Volleyball Team – 3rd Place These achievements reflect the students’ dedication and consistent practice in volleyball. Both U 14 & U 17 team travelled to St. Joseph Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vettuvankani to participate in this touranment The Scouts and Guides program played a vital role in shaping the character of students by encouraging discipline, teamwork, and a strong sense of social responsibility.

Annual Sports Day Celebrations The Annual Sports Meet 2025 at HOPE foundation School was celebrated through two dynamic events, engaging students from Kindergarten to Grade 10 in a vibrant display of athleticism, teamwork, and discipline. The Tiny Tots Sports Meet catered to Kindergarten to class II, while the main Sports Day brought together students from classes III to X. Graced by eminent guests including Ms. Mohana Priya (International Kickboxer), Ms. Lynda Gerbrich (AISC Chennai), Ms. Vijayalakshmi (National Pencak Silat Champion), Mr. Chandrasekaran (National Volleyball Player & Former Assistant Director, Enforcement Directorate), Mr. Newton Raj (HCL Foundation), and Mr. Thayal (Inspector of Police, Kannagi Nagar), the events were both inspiring and memorable. The celebrations commenced with a prayer, welcome dance, and march past, followed by the oath-taking and lighting of the Olympic torch. Students enthusiastically participated in drills, aerobics, Silambam, and track and relay events demonstrating coordination, strength, and sportsmanship. Younger students showcased foundational skills through creative drills, while senior students displayed advanced athletic and martial art abilities. A fun parent engagement activity added excitement, while the distribution of medals and certificates recognized student achievements. The chief guests, through their motivating words, reinforced the importance of sports in building confidence, discipline, and resilience.
