What if we only lived with the things that we use to maintain ourselves?

Food, water, clothing, shelter, and education are the basic fundamentals in maintaining a standard person. These things are what satisfies a human's physical biology and they are called our needs, and anything more than those five are called wants. Needs matter more than wants as they are most efficient, necessary, and contributes more to a human's life. According to a study of the possible contribution of Quality of Life by Allister McGregor et al. (2009), the concept of wants and needs when it comes to the state of a country's economy, specially the persistance of poverty, is built on the lifestyle that the government has influenced and implemented in its people.

This applies as what we want can change from different perspectives such as when you're a child born in the city, you'd want toys as a form of entertainment because your environment endorses them, but a child living in the countryside would most likely not have or have less toys as their environment is more on nature. Opossing this, needs are things that don't change because they are a systematic routine of constant desire for a specific aspect in physical maintenance of a person. These are things that have the greatest effect on an individual for the most of their life.

However, according to David Kane et. al., needs and wants connect with each other as certain needs can still be associated as wants depending on the variety of circumstances being meet. For instance, we all need to eat is given but what we are going to eat is a different thing because not everyone eats vegetables if they are hungry, so this is how wants are connected. Although this is a difficult opposition, we must review an important factor: wants only enter the equation when different choices are presented for each person's preferences. But if you give a group of people only one choice then they'll choose it because they have the common sense that it is what they need.

Wants are improtant to too but not as needs. Needs are the things we need in order to survive and lived in today’s world. Without our needs we will have a tough time living. But we must also remember that wants are also important for our own self reflection.

Our reflection as a group is that needs should be our number one priority but also letting wants to be part of our life. These two are crucial in our daily lives because needs and wants work together to satisfy us as well keeping us alive and healthy in today’s world
