SOCIAL- EMOTIONAL & BEHAVIORALSupport2026-2027 Professional Development Guide
SCHOOL TEAM IMPLEMENTATION Social-Emotional & Behavior Domains The San Luis Obispo County Office of Education offers schools and districts training and support on a systemic implementation of an integrated tiered framework for positive social climate, behavior and mental health & wellbeing in a school or district. Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) is a decision-making framework that guides selection, integration and implementation of the best evidence-based practices for improving important outcomes for all students. Using Positive Behavior Supports and Interventions (PBIS) as the foundation, SLOCOE supports school teams to integrate social-emotional learning (SEL), trauma informed practices and restorative practices. PBIS is not a curriculum, intervention or practice, but instead is a collaboration between staff in designing a system of behavioral and social- emotional supports to best fit the culture and context of each school’s community.
