The idea is to create a space that helps people rediscover their country’s rich past and learn about it in an engaging way. MAJOR AIM The Plotline District focuses on how Ethiopia’s culture and history have been ignored over time, causing people to lose interest in their country and stop feeling patriotic. This project hoped to bring back that pride by creating a place where people can learn about their history, culture, and enjoy reading. ENVELOPE EXTERIOR The envelope that shows the desperation of the core on the exterior. Holding the engravings of culture as a whole and speaking the reality of it towards the community. This structure holds the open down frames and provide aesthetic beauty within the interior Concave structure that recieves light from the skylight and deflects it towards the floors for more natural daylight. CONCEPT- EXPOSURE The concept is shaped by the belief that engineering should be open, accessible, and beneficial to everyone. The podium becomes a public ground where visitors, staff, and the city meet. Above it, the two towers express structure, systems, and sustainability openly to the Urban Fabric. The vibrations that go 270 degrees caused by the wind will be transfered to the sensor and that will inturns generate electricity. VERTICAL FINS MOVEMENT SENSOR CIRCUIT THAT CONNECTS TO MAIN LINE Rainwater collection along the terraced podiumm and the lines of the megacol- umns Solar panels mounted on the photovol- taic glass units Circuits going through the mullion curtain wall and the diagrid to the main line. Circuits that go through the diagrid to sustain the facade panels STRUCTURALIST The facade systems do not hide the structural exposure, they want it to be expressed while responding to the environment. Tower facade uses the diagrid to stand expressive and utilize the sun and ventilation. Podium facade uses a semi transparent perforated material to expose the structure of the podium while responding to the sound effects. The characters we see on the building resembles closely to the site’s character. 70 dereja emphasizing the stairlike formal arrangment of the building, the facade finishes to protect the vegitation, programs that are majored in education for the students around schools and universities are some among many.
