KAREN MURPHY General Manger / Property Manager Karen hails from Pennsylvania and began her career as General Manager for a restaurant in the Poconos. She and her husband moved to Florida where she expanded her career into property and facility management. For the past six years she has worked at Wild Blue and Vista Blue communities, overseeing facilities, operations, and vendor relationships When the Timber Creek Community Association Manager position became available, she pursued the opportunity and is excited to bring her commitment to excellence to the community. Karen is looking forward to fostering stronger connections throughout the community via her top goals: ·Enhance resident relationships and create a well-managed welcoming community. ·Strengthen communication and community engagement to create a more community- centric environment. Scott is a Nashville, Tennessee native and graduated with a culinary arts degree from Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island. During his 14-year career as an Executive Chef, Scott spent three years in Sanibel where South Seas Resort was one of his clients. He later transitioned into Food and Beverage Management, bringing his culinary expertise and management skills together. Scott is happy to be serving the Timber Creek community and sharing new ideas for the kitchen. He is developing culinary programs that bring great food to the kitchen for dining experiences that everyone can enjoy. DAVID WICKLINE Head Chef David was born and raised in Florida and graduated from the Florida Culinary Institute. Chef Wickline has 22 years in the culinary business and chefed at the Seminole Casino Hotel in Immokalee for 15 years. Chef David plans to prepare all menu items from scratch, with soups and sauces being among his specialties. Residents can look forward to monthly buffets as well as a variety of regional foods and dishes. David is excited to be a part of the Timber Creek community and looks forward to creating dining experiences that residents will enjoy. Reminders Parking Have you experienced déjà vu? Indeed, the topic of vehicle parking and storage was addressed in our June newsletter. However, we now have some crucial updates to convey: The Timber Creek Rules explicitly prohibit overnight parking from 12 AM to 6 AM. This regulation is in place to maintain a 20-foot-wide emergency access route for the Fort Myers Fire Department. Any vehicles found parked during these hours will be subject to towing. TO AVOID TOWING FEES AND POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO YOUR VEHICLE, PLEASE ENSURE THAT NO VEHICLES ARE PARKED OVERNIGHT DURING THESE HOURS. Additionally, parking on grass , blocking the sidewalk or too close to corners that obstruct the view of oncoming drivers is also not permitted. Landscaping Owner Responsibilities Replace dead or damaged landscaping at the owner's expense Owners are responsible for replacing shrubs, trees, plants, sod, irrigation lines, and related landscaping materials that die or need replacement for any reason, including irrigation issues, weather, insects, or disease. Obtain ARC approval before making landscape changes Owners may not add, remove, replace, cut down, or significantly alter landscaping without prior written approval from the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) Keep lots free of debris and in good condition Owners must maintain their lot in a neat condition and keep landscaping areas free of trash and debris If an owner fails to maintain landscaping as required, the Association may perform the work after notice and charge the cost back to the owner. Forecasters with NOAA’s National Weather Service are predicting a below-normal hurricane season for the Atlantic basin this year. NOAA’s outlook for the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, which runs June 1 to November 30, predicts a 35% chance of a near- normal season, a 10% chance of an above-normal season, and a 55% chance of a below- normal season. The agency is forecasting a total of 8-14 named storms (winds of 39 mph or higher). Of those, 3-6 are forecast to become hurricanes (winds of 74 mph or higher), including 1-3 major hurricanes (category 3, 4 or 5 with winds of 111 mph or higher). NOAA has a 70% confidence in these ranges. An average season has 14 named storms with seven hurricanes, including three major hurricanes. It is always good to be prepared!
