MY CHILDHOODCHAPTER ONEPope Leo XIV (born Robert Francis Prevost I grew up in a a very religious family in Chicago as the youngest of three brothers,My brothers names are Louis Martin and John Joseph My father Louis Marius Prevost was a Navy veteran and teacher.My mother Mildred Martinez Prevost was a librarian. Our family belonged to st Mary of the Assumption church in Rivedale And every day before school Our mother would wake us before school to attend the 6:30 mass before school always teaching us that Jesus is our best friend, As a young boy I loved working for the church as an alter boy and choir boy very much,My brothers and I loved playing pretend priest at home using a ironing board as an alter and a Ecco wafers for communion hosts while we practiced prayers in Latin ,The school I went to was the parish elementary school and later on I decided I wanted to join the order of Saint Augustine in eighth grade
Chapter TwoMy calling from GodMy calling from God was me surrendering Control taking a deep brash and praying Here we go Lord you’re in charge was when I realised that it was my calling Trusting God is the most important thing one can ever do when God calls one to an unexpected service quiet your fears and trust completely in divine will as I learnt along the way helping people and sharing Gods word is more important than any money could give and trust me when I say Gods plans are infinitely greater and let us say more human than those that we me and women marked by sin can bring to fruition.The Prophets call for us to abandon our warped ways and return to the lord.
Chapter ThreeI became a priest in June 19, 1982 in the chapel of Saint Monica of Augustinian’s in Rome Italy ,I spent two decades doing missionary and pastoral work in Peru, My ministry took place during very difficult times of poverty terrotsim and political dictatorship.I worked as a local parish pasto,seminary teacher and administrator. I was then elected prior general of the order Saint Augustine and I was based in 2001 to 2013, through traveled extensively and I returned to Peru as bishop Chiclayo from 2015 to 2023Becoming a priest
Chapter FourServing the church must actively serve humanity as well with humanity and love rather than remaining passive or seeking worldly power.I advocate for the vulnerable I always to believe to encourage the church to leave behind indifference I urge believers to take on the burdens of people in need suffering from poverty injustice and violence, I will always teach that pastoral activity should focus on who to encounter. “commit to the Lord whatever you do,and he will establish your plans”. Proverbs 16:3Serving the church
Chapter Fivewhen I returned from Peru as of Chiclayo from 2015 to 2023 and I became a Peruvian citizen .Later along the way Late Pope Francis pointed me as the Discastery for Bishops in Rome,and the president of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America,Upon My arrival for my return to Rome I was made cardinal As Cardinal I stood up for climate change and international migration church governanc,and human rights My election in the conclave was later held in 2025 and was very unexpected in my opinion,And that is how i became Pope Leo XIVBecoming Pope leo XIV
My Mission as PopeMy mission as pope is to lead a vibrant and outward reaching missionary church grounded in peace justice and human dignity and continuous pursuit of unity,I encourage local churches to practice patient listenin,discernment and collective evaluation other than rushing into one path My hope is to bring peace into the world and and help those a in and heal the world all in one.I view the church not as an insular institution but rather as a community with arms open wide going into a broken world to bring the message of the Resurrection and hopeChapter 6
Chapter sevenMy hopes for the future as Pope is for a future rooted in lasting peac,divine merc,justice and human fraternity that people actively build together through love rather than being divided.I urge Young people to be active leaders and protagonist,of their own countries futuresI want to assure people that God’s love will always guide and accompany you wherever you weather,you are white,black,gay,or different know gods love will accompany you everywhere.I hope in the future that the world will be filled with love peace and no longer be broken.Hopes for the future
