Long ago, in the beautiful hills of Israel, there lived a young shepherd boy named David. Every morning, David led his fluffy sheep to green pastures. He played his harp, sang joyful songs to God, and thanked Him for every beautiful day. David was not the biggest or strongest boy, but he loved God with all his heart. Wherever David went, he trusted that God was always with him.

One day, David brought food to his older brothers who were soldiers. When he reached the camp, he heard a loud booming voice echo across the valley. It was Goliath! The giant challenged the Israelites every day. "Choose someone to fight me!" Everyone was afraid.

The soldiers whispered to one another. "No one can defeat him." Even King Saul looked worried. But David remembered something very important. No giant could ever be bigger than God.

"I will fight Goliath," David said. The soldiers gasped. "But you're only a boy!" David smiled. "The Lord who rescued me from the lion and the bear will rescue me from this giant too." David knew God had helped him before, and God would help him again.

King Saul offered David heavy armor. David tried it on. It was much too big! Instead, David picked up his shepherd's sling and chose five smooth stones from a sparkling stream. He trusted God more than armor.

Goliath laughed when he saw David. "You are only a little shepherd!" But David answered, "You come to me with a sword and a spear, but I come to you in the name of the Lord!" David's courage came from trusting God.

David placed one smooth stone into his sling. He swung it around and around. Whoosh! The stone flew through the air. Everyone watched in silence.

The stone flew straight toward Goliath. Thunk! The giant lost his balance and fell to the ground. The valley became very quiet. Then everyone realized... God had given David the victory!

The Israelites cheered with happy voices. King Saul smiled. David did not brag. Instead, he thanked God for helping him. Everyone celebrated God's wonderful power.

David learned that being brave does not mean you are never afraid. Being brave means choosing to trust God even when something feels scary. God was with David every step of the way.

Sometimes our giants are not people. They can be fear. They can be worry. They can be loneliness. They can be hard days at school. They can be sickness. Whatever your giant may be, remember that God is always bigger.

Whenever you feel small, remember David. He trusted God with all his heart. And God gave him courage to do something amazing. The same God who helped David is with you today. So be brave. Trust God. With Him, every giant becomes smaller.
