INTRODUCTION TO PICKLEBALL Page 3www.gwccentre.co.uk Following the success of our Monday and Wednesday Pickleball classes, we are delighted to launch Introduction classes for 12- 16 year olds and 17 -25 year olds over the summer holidays. Pickleball is recognised as one of the fatest growing sports in the country and following the introduction of our initial Monday morning session of Pickleball, this has now expanded to Monday evenings and Wednesday evenings, such is the popularity of the sport. Following feedback, we have now launched an 8 week summer block designed for 12- 16 year olds and 17 - 25 year olds. These sessions are an introduction to Pickleball and will be running on Tuesday evenings from 14 July for a period of 8 weeks. th The session for 12-16 year olds will run from 6.30pm to 8pm, while the 17 - 25 year old sessions will run from 8pm to 9.30pm. The cost of the 8 week block is only £24. Spaces are limited and going fast, so to reserve your space, email us at office@gwccentre.co.uk

This was a great opportunity for member organisations to catch up, get together and hear about the amazing work that takes place across Aberdeen’s third sector and to find out more about the ways ACVO can continue to support local organisations

HAMMER-DEEN TOURNAMENT Page 5www.gwccentre.co.uk Warhammer Tournament Brings Competitive Gaming to Great Western Community Centre Great Western Community Centre was delighted to host Hammer-Deen’s 11 Edition Doubles Tournament, welcoming tabletop gaming enthusiasts from across the region for an exciting day of strategy, teamwork and friendly competition. th The doubles tournament saw teams of two players joining forces over three consecutive games to battle for the title of Doubles Champions. Alongside the gaming action, prizes were awarded for outstanding gameplay and for the best-painted armies, showcasing the incredible creativity and dedication. The event attracted players of all experience levels and created a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day, with participants enjoying both the competitive matches and the opportunity to meet fellow players. Hosting events such as this highlights the versatility of Great Western Community Centre as a venue, providing space for a wide range of community activities- from health & wellbeing classes to gaming tournaments. We are pleased to have welcomed the organisers and competitors and look forward to hosting similar events in the future.

Successful Coffee Morning Raises Funds for Aberdeen Local Mòd Page 6www.gwccentre.co.uk Great Western Community Centre was delighted to be the venue for a successful Coffee Morning in support of Aberdeen Local Mòd (Mòd Ionadail Obar Dheathain), which will be held in the city later this year. The event brought together members of the community for a morning of entertainment, refreshments and fundraising, all in support of this important celebration of Gaelic language, music and culture. A big thank you to everyone who generously gave their time to organise and help with the event, the talented performers who entertained those attending, and to everyone who came along to show their support. Your generosity and community spirit helped make the morning a wonderful success. We wish Aberdeen Local Mòd every success with this year’s event which promises to be a memorable celebration.
