PORTFOLIO NORA JORDAN

NORA JORDAN DESIGNER’S STATEMENT My name is Nora Jordan, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. Creativity has always been a constant in my life. It has been a driving force that I’ve embraced not only as self-expression but as a means of connection and purpose. Over the years, I’ve challenged myself to channel that passion into different projects and hobbies, and interior design has become that main outlet. Through my education and personal exploration, design has expanded my ability to engage with the world around me. I’m particularly interested in how creative spaces can positively impact mental health and foster inspiration in others. I’m eager for a career that is immersive, challenging, and expansive. As I finish my final year as a design student, I want to push my boundaries, discover my personal design voice, and grow both as a designer and as an individual. While my style and skills will continue to evolve, my core values remain steady: I believe in open-mindedness, empathy, and the power of thoughtful design, and I hope to bring these with me into my career. 02 - TXST BOUTIQUE HOTEL Fall 2025 | October-December Studio II - Hospitality Media: Revit, D5 Located in the heart of San Marcos, Project Cat Tree Hotel is a 150 key boutique hotel on the Texas State University Campus. Taking inspiration from the geological layers and rolling terrain of Texas Hill Country, this hotel connects students, family, and football fans through levels, spirit, and its locally curated art, menus, and more.

CONCEPT “Project Cat Tree” draws inspiration from the geological layers of the Edwards Aquifer and the rolling terrain of the Texas Hill Country, celebrating the natural strata that define San Marcos. The project emphasizes layers and levels, both vertically and materially, to reflect the depth, movement, and connection of the community. By incorporating locally inspired materials like limestone and mosaic tiles, the hotel will act as a gathering place for students, alumni, locals, and visitors, offering a space that portrays the TXST spirit and strengthens its cultural and social fabric. 03 - FCS STUDIO REMODEL Spring 2025 | March - April Building Construction Documents Media: Revit, D5, Enscape Located in the Family and Consumer Sciences building on the Texas State University campus in San Marcos, this space-conscious studio apartment started out as a materials lab for students. This project transforms a space and its abilities into something completely different. Practicing space planning, Revit software, and construction documentation, this project shows the in-depth process it takes to create documentation needed for a remodel project.

04 - WILD RICE PAVILION Spring 2025 | March Building and Construction Documentation Media: Revit, Enscape This project was a learning curve to building custom models in the Revit software. The Wild Rice Pavilion takes inspiration from the endangered Wild Rice of the San Marcos River, blending limestone, oak, marble tile, and green stained glass to reflect the surrounding nature. The limestone and tile symbolizes the riverbed and flowing clear water, while the oak wood and stained glass capture the vibrant vegetation and strong stalks of the wild rice. The open vertical elements create a dynamic play of light that connects visitors to the sunshine and river ecosystem.
