The outreach aimed to equip learners and educators with information on mental health challenges affecting young people, including substance abuse, bullying, school dropout, and the impact of difficult social circumstances on emotional well- being. Information pamphlets and referral pathways to mental health services were also provided. Representing Weskoppies Hospital, Ms Sophy Tlala highlighted the importance of early intervention and support for learners. She noted that the programme sought to reduce school dropouts and substance abuse while empowering educators to identify challenges early and refer learners for appropriate assistance. In support of the initiative, NEHAWU Tshwane Region donated school uniforms, shoes, and other essential items to vulnerable learners, while also contributing to school improvement projects. The outreach demonstrated Weskoppies Hospital's ongoing commitment to promoting mental health awareness, encouraging help-seeking behaviour, and supporting the well-being of young people within the communities it serves. Through partnerships such as these, the hospital continues to play an important role in building healthier, more resilient communities.
