TITLE: MY JOURNEY: FROM CHALLENGES TO SUCCESS People often think that successful people never experience failure. However, I believe that success is achieved through perseverance and determination. Throughout my life, I have faced many challenges that helped me become stronger. These experiences taught me that every setback is an opportunity to learn and grow. Since secondary school, I have dreamed of becoming a teacher. After completing my studies, I applied to IPG but my application was unsuccessful. I felt disappointed and continue studying ..at Kelantan Matriculation College while waiting for my appeal Three weeks later, I checked my appeal result and was extremely happy to discover that I had been accepted into IPG. I immediately shared the good news with my mother, and she was very proud of me. After completing the necessary procedures, I enrolled in the Mathematics Education programme. This opportunity encouraged me to work harder to achieve my dream. Studying at IPG was more challenging than I expected. During my first semester, I often worried because I heard that some students had failed and needed to repeat the semester. Instead of giving up, I became more disciplined by studying regularly, completing my assignments on time, and asking my lecturers for help whenever I faced difficulties. As a result, I achieved the Dean's List, and one of the subjects I feared the most became one of my best subjects. Interestingly, Mathematics was not always my favourite subject. During primary school, I found Mathematics difficult and often lacked confidence in class. However, after entering secondary school, I began to understand the concepts more clearly. Gradually, my confidence increased, and Mathematics became the subject I enjoyed the most. This experience taught me that hard work can transform weaknesses into strengths. Another important part of my journey is my mother's sacrifices. My father passed away when I was only five years old, leaving my mother to raise my older brother and me by herself. Although life was not always easy, she worked tirelessly to support our family and encourage us to pursue our dreams. Her sacrifices continue to inspire me to work hard and become someone she can always be proud of. Looking back, I realise that every challenge has helped me grow into a stronger person. My journey has taught me that failure is not the end but a stepping stone towards success. I will continue working hard to achieve my dream of becoming a dedicated mathematics teacher and making my mother proud.

REVISION

SELF REFLECTION After reviewing my essay, I realised that there were several areas that needed improvement. Some of my sentences contained grammatical errors, especially in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and the use of articles. I also noticed that a few ideas could be expressed more clearly and smoothly. Revising my work helped me improve the overall flow of the essay and made my personal experiences easier for readers to understand. This process reminded me that writing is not only about sharing ideas but also about communicating them accurately and effectively. PEER FEEDBACK After receiving feedback from my peers, I learned that my essay was meaningful and emotionally engaging. However, they pointed out several grammatical mistakes, inconsistent verb tenses, and awkward sentence structures that affected the clarity of my writing. They also suggested adding smoother transitions between paragraphs and improving word choices to make the essay more natural. Their constructive feedback allowed me to revise my work more effectively and produce a clearer, more polished final version.

MY JOURNEY: FROM CHALLENGES TO SUCCESSPeople often believe that success belongs to those who never fail. However, my life has taught me otherwise. Success is not about being perfect from the start, but about the courage to keep moving forward despite challenges and setbacks. Every setback I faced became a stepping stone that shaped who I am today. Looking back, I realise that progress matters far more than perfection.Since secondary school, becoming a teacher had been my greatest dream. Inspired by the impact teachers have on shaping lives, I chose the Institute of Teacher Education (IPG) as my first choice after finishing school. Despite working hard, I was heartbroken when my application was unsuccessful. I felt that my dream had slipped away and, more painfully, that I had disappointed my mother, who had always hoped to see me become among an IPG student. For a while, I questioned whether I was good enough to achieve my dream. With no other choice, I accepted an offer to study at Matriculation College in Kelantan. Although, I tried to stay positive, adjusting to the fast-paced and independent learning environment was challenging. Coming from an ordinary daily school, I had to adapt quickly and take greater responsibility for my own learning. Even so, I continued to hope that my IPG appeal would be successful.About three weeks after registering at the matriculation college, I checked my appeal result once again, and to my disbelief, it had been accepted. I immediately called my mother to share the wonderful news, and hearing the happiness in her voice made the moment even more special. The next day, she came to bring me home after I completed the necessary procedures. Receiving my first-choice programme, Mathematics Education, felt like an answered prayer and marked one of the happiest moments of my life.Although I was grateful to be in IPG, I soon realised that studying Mathematics Education was more challenging than I had expected. During my second semester, I often worried about whether I could cope with the academic demands, especially after lecturer had said that some students had failed and were required to repeat the semester. There were moments when I doubted my abilities and questioned whether I truly deserved to be there.Instead of letting fear control me, I chose to make the most of the opportunity. I became more disciplined, revised consistently, completed my assignments diligently, and sought help whenever I faced difficulties. My efforts eventually paid off when I was honoured with the Dean's List, and one of the subjects I had feared the most became one of my strongest achievements with a solid A. This experience taught me that success comes through consistency, perseverance, and continuous improvement.

Interestingly, mathematics was not always my favourite subject. During primary school, I often struggled to solve mathematics problems. I still remember feeling embarrassed whenever my teacher asked me to answer questions in front of the class because I simply did not know how to solve them. However, everything changed when I entered secondary school. I began to understand that mathematics was not about memorising formulas but about understanding concepts. As my confidence grew, so did my interest in the subject. The subject that once frightened me gradually became the one I loved the most. Looking back, I realise that my journey in mathematics reflects my life itself. I did not become good at it immediately, but I continued learning until I succeeded.Behind every achievement in my life stands the strongest person I have ever known is my mother. My father passed away when I was only five years old, leaving my mother to raise my older brother and me on her own. Since then, she has worked tirelessly, day and night, to provide us with everything she could. Although we did not have a luxurious life, our home was always filled with love, warmth, and endless encouragement. As a child, there were moments when I felt sad watching my classmates being picked up by their fathers after school but this experience made me to be more independent , persevere and the facts that I’ve never shown my vulnerability to others when talking about father. I often wondered what it would have been like if my father were still with us. Yet, those feelings never overshadowed my gratitude because I had a mother who never stopped believing in me. She became both my mother and my father, sacrificing her own comfort so that my sibling and I could pursue our dreams. Every achievement I have today belongs to her just as much as it belongs to me.My greatest dream is not only to become a dedicated mathematics teacher but also to make my mother proud. I hope to one day provide her with the comfortable life she truly deserves. Although I know I can never fully repay her sacrifices, I want every achievement to reflect my gratitude for everything she has done for me.As I reflect on my journey, I realise that every disappointment and challenge has shaped the person I am today. My first rejection from IPG taught me that failure is not the end but a stepping stone towards growth. Although progress may be slow, every step forward brings me closer to my dreams. This belief continues to guide me as I strive to become the best version of myself.(891 words).
