PREPARED SPEECH SEGMENT: In this segment, club members prepare and deliver 5 to 7 minute speeches with specific learning objectives as specified in the Pathways Education Program of Toastmasters International. Delivering speeches counts as credits towards the Education program. Relationships are nurtured and partnerships are forged around dining tables, conference tables, and game tables. To keep the ball rolling and make an impact around there is a vital skill. Speeches are for 1 to 2 minutes. Impromptu speaking improves our presence of mind, observation, retention and critical thinking skills.2. The 3 segments are led by 3 main Role Players THE GENERAL EVALUATOR The General Evaluator is responsible for conducting the evaluation portion of the meeting and managing the evaluation team — speech evaluators, timer, Grammarian, Ah- Counter, and any other role-specific evaluators like Table Topics Evaluator. Holding this position builds critical thinking, organization, time management, motivation, and team-building skills . It also strengthens listening and giving balanced feedback abilities, which are valuable in both Toastmasters and real- world leadership. THE GENERAL EVALUATOR IS THE MEETING’S OBSERVER, COACH, AND ENCOURAGER. THIS ROLE PLAYER HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT EVALUATIONS ARE FAIR, CONSTRUCTIVE, AND FOCUSED ON GROWTH. THE EVALUATOR’S ROLE IS TO FOSTER A CULTURE OF CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT, MUTUAL RESPECT, AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT. There is a Speech Evaluator for every prepared speech. S/he provides constructive feedback on a prepared speech, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
