INTRODUCTION
Karnival Kimia Malaysia (K2M) is an annual flagship event organized by the Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM) since 2008. The carnival serves as an important educational platform aimed at exposing school students to science, particularly chemistry, through engaging and Interactive activities. These include exhibitions, mini experiments, hands-on laboratory demonstrations, competitions, and career-sharing sessions. Through these activities, students are able to explore chemistry in a fun and meaningful way while gaining a better understanding of how science relates to everyday life. The carnival aims to spark curiosity and cultivate a deeper interest in chemistry among students. Early exposure to scientific experiments and real- world applications can inspire students to pursue chemistry-related studies in higher education and consider careers in science, technology, and innovation. Karnival Kimia Malaysia 2026 also emphasizes ethical and responsible scientific practice. In line with the educational philosophy of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), the programme incorporates the concept of Tawhidic Epistemology, which integrates revealed knowledge with rational and empirical scientific inquiry. This approach highlights that the pursuit of scientific knowledge should contribute not only to technological advancement but also to the well-being of society and the environment. In addition, the carnival provides a platform for knowledge-sharing by bringing together academicians from universities, industry professionals, and representatives from government agencies such as the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). Their participation enriches the learning experience while strengthening collaboration between schools, universities, industries, and government bodies. Ultimately, Karnival Kimia Malaysia 2026 aspires to nurture Ummatic Excellence by developing individuals who are intellectually capable, ethically responsible, and committed to using scientific knowledge for the benefit of society and the wider community.
