The Writing Center Review is a newsletter published by Norfolk State University's Writing Center in September 2026. It is written for students, faculty, and staff of the university. The first issue recaps the Center's busiest summer on record, with nearly 130 appointments and over 400 students engaged at events across campus.

The newsletter introduces the Spartan Scholars' Handbook, a new resource for freshmen published in late summer. The handbook covers major style guides, generative AI, study skills, academic writing essentials, and student support services. It was distributed during AGOGE Week.

A writing tip advises students to update their resumes quarterly, focusing on internships, honors, skills, and keywords for applicant tracking systems. The Center offers assistance with resume polishing.

The staff spotlight features London Rhodes, the Center's first intern, a senior English Secondary Education major. She contributed to consulting practices, event planning, and Center materials. The newsletter also reports on the SWCA Annual Directors' Conference, where Director Andrew Burlile collaborated with other Virginia universities.

Upcoming events include a book club, coffeehouse, resume and professional headshots session, and the Fall Career Expo. A punch card reward system is launched, offering SWAG items after five visits and an exclusive prize after fifteen visits. The common reader HBCU Made by Ayesha Roscoe is recommended.
