It emphasizes values like discipline, teamwork, and service, especially through community-based activities. This program is vital because it reminds us that education is about more than justgaining knowledge; it’s about using that knowledge to positively impact others. It also gives us the chance to encounter real community issues, making learning more relevant and meaningful. Through these experiences,weslowly develop empathy and understanding for different people and situations. KnowingthatNSTP is backed by laws like Republic Act 9163 highlights its importance and necessity. It shows the country’srecognition of the youth’s role in nation-building and its expectation for our active involvement. As a result, I’vecometo see civic responsibility as a key part of our daily lives, not just a school requirement. GROUP NO., NAME & POSITION: 1 – AUXILIUM POPULI – SECETARY INSIGHTS/LEARNING: Our group activity challenged us to create and present a poster that represents the values and mission of NSTP and Holy Angel University. We named our group Auxilium Populi, which means “Help for the People.” Through our poster, we wanted to show that genuine service starts with being aware of others, having faith, showing integrity, striving for excellence, and having a sincere willingness to help. Each symbol in our poster has its own meaning. The eye represents awareness and reminds us to pay attention to the needs of the people around us. The wings symbolize our responsibility to support, guide, and uplift others through service. The halo represents the importance of doing what is right and allowing our faith to guide our actions. At the center, the cross represents keeping Christ at the heart of everything we do, while the four core values—Faith, Integrity, Excellence, and Service—serve as the foundation of how we should act as Holy Angel University students. While creating and presenting our poster, I realized that NSTP is not simply a subject or a requirement that we need to complete. It teaches us the importance of understanding the needs of others and responding with compassion and sincerity. Through our discussions and presentation, I also gained a deeper appreciation of how the university’s vision and mission help shape us into responsible, disciplined, and service-oriented individuals. This activity also made me reflect on my own role as a student and as part of the community. I learned that leadership is not only about being in charge or telling others what to do. It is also about being willing to listen, lend a hand, and inspire others through our actions and character. Even small acts of kindness can make a difference when they come from a genuine desire to help. Overall, this activity helped me understand the deeper meaning of service. It reminded me that our faith and values should guide the choices we make and the way we treat others. Firstly, we were assigned to think of a leader and act out something that can describe him as a leader. At first, it was hard for us to think of a leader because there were multiple examples of a good leader in the Philippines back in the day. Vico Sotto, we chose him not only because of his iconic editing skills that young Filipino finds funny and adoring that makes him viral. But we also chose him for his transparency, integrity, and many more. We acted out a situation where in it showcased how he has service-oriented mindset. He prioritezes his people and act fast on unsolved problems.Secondly, we perfomed a short skit that sir assigned us last meeting. We showcased how helpful Filipinos can be. We made our skit a bit more entertaining which is why we added an “expectation vs reality” touch to it. It shows that helping a friend doesn’t always come out good or the reason to find your the one. Since, for some people, helping can be a hard work for them. They instead turn a blind eye on people in need of help.Overall, today’s activities taught us that leadership and kindness are shown through our actions. Through our skits, we learned that a good leader serves with integrity and puts others first. And during the second skit, it reminded us that helping others, even when it is difficult, refelcts one of the defining qualities of a Filipino. These lessons reminded us that making a positive impact starts witht the choices we make ever day. Before taking NSTP, I thought being a responsible Filipino citizen was simply about following the law and respecting people. Through our discussions and activities, I realized that it also means helping those in need, taking care of the environment, and participating in community programs. NSTP showed me that being a leader is not about being in charge but about setting a good example. Listening to music, watching movies or shows, scrolling through social media, and talking to my friends help me forget about school for a while. I also feel less stressed when I finish my tasks little by little instead of rushing everything at the last minute. When I feel mentally drained, I usually take a short break and give myself time to breathe and relax. I remind myself that it is okay to rest and that I do not always have to be productive every moment. We talked about the different challenges they experience in the Philippines, including poverty, lack of access to education, hunger, and the risk of abuse and exploitation. Our discussion helped us understand that these children are often placed in difficult situations because of circumstances beyond their control. I also shared information about Republic Act No. 9208, or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, which aims to protect children from trafficking, exploitation, forced labor, and other forms of abuse. We learned that street children are among the most vulnerable members of society because they often do not have enough protection, support, or access to basic needs. Because of this, they need programs and services that can help them feel safe and supported. Our group also talked about possible ways to address this issue. We agreed that the government and local communities should strengthen child protection and rehabilitation programs, provide better access to education and shelter, and support families through livelihood opportunities. These efforts can help reduce the number of children living or working on the streets and give them more opportunities for a better future. Through this activity, I realized that street children need understanding, protection, and opportunities rather than judgment. It made me more aware that helping them is not only about providing immediate needs but also about addressing the situations that cause them to live on the streets.
