This is the September 2026 issue of the OpTime/Anesthesia Newsletter for Wellstar Health System. It is an internal publication for perioperative and anesthesia staff who use the Epic electronic health record system.
The newsletter reports that the e-Consent expiration date field has been temporarily removed from the form. An issue was found with the feature that calculates the 30-day expiration date, causing incorrect dates to appear. Epic is researching and addressing the problem, and the field will remain blank until the fix is implemented and tested.
New tip sheets are introduced: one for Wound Classification for Intra-Op Procedures and another for Blood Orders for Intra-Op Nurses. The October tip sheets are also previewed.
A new Epic Education SharePoint site is now available, featuring a refreshed user experience and an Epic Tip Sheet Finder tool. Staff are asked to update their bookmarks and to submit tickets to the Epic Training team for assistance.
All requests for Epic access or updates must be approved by the staff member's direct manager. Requests submitted via ServiceNow will be forwarded to management for review and approval.
The newsletter directs readers to the Perioperative Communications Dashboard, the Epic Connect Site, and the new Epic Education SharePoint site. It lists contact emails for Academic Affairs and OpTime/Anesthesia CIS, and promotes the CyberStar Program and Epic Elevate training videos.
