Students who will come late for the first call/checking will be marked late until the 30th minute of the first hour. A student is allowed two (2) late arrivals whether consecutive or not. On the 3rd late arrival, the student will be marked absent for one whole session, and every time he/she incurs three late arrivals thereafter. 3. Students will be marked absent for the day’s session for late arrivals beyond 30 minutes, leaving them with NO merit for attendance, but they will earn scores for their class standing should they decide to nonetheless join the activities. 4. The allowable number of unexcused absences is three (3) session days whether consecutive or not. A student who incurs more than the allowed number of absences shall be marked “FA”, that is, failure due to absences, regardless of his/her class standing. 5. CLASS CODE: 401 GROUP NO., NAME & POSITION: G1-SERVE-TIMER DATE: JUNE 21, 2026 INSIGHTS/LEARNING: I’ve always thought that NSTP helps mold students into better people by teaching us how to serve our community and our country. As I got to know more about it through our CWTS teacher Mr. Ocera, I discovered that it is mandated by our law which was in Republic Act 9163, which means that the government has a clear agenda in preparing the youth for nation-building. To me, NSTP is not just a subject to complete at Holy Angel University, but it is about developing us students to become more responsible and being aware of the needs of the real world community. Knowing that NSTP is supported by law helped me understand that the government really values youth involvement in nation-building which made me take it a lot more seriously because it became an eye opener for me that the civic duty is not something that we can choose to do, it is something that we are expected to do as part of big society. Because of this, I now see myself not only as a student, but as someone who can be part of change by giving back to the community even in small ways.

CLASS CODE: 401 GROUP NO., NAME & POSITION: G1-SERVE-TIMER DATE: JULY 2, 2026 INSIGHTS/LEARNING: We began our NSTP class last Saturday with a prayer. After that, all groups went on with the presentation of our assignment which was the poster and when we’re all done presenting, our prof discussed about the topic being a good Filipino citizen. While discussing, we were asked to recite the Panatang Makabayan, and I saw that some of us still don't know or remember it well. That got me thinking that maybe we don't pay enough attention to things that represent us as Filipinos and it made me realize that I should take it more seriously and understand its meaning. Then, Mr. Ocera tasked all groups to share some thoughts about the lesson, and our group was given a topic about Filipino being known as hospitable, and one of our members in the group volunteered to speak. I learned that Filipinos are very welcoming and make tourists feel at home, but I also learned that sometimes, they give more attention to foreigners because they think that they are wealthier and more beneficial, rather than giving the same attention to the other Filipinos. We also talked about self-awareness, and I realized that it is important to know yourself because it will help you to understand what you are doing, your strengths and weaknesses, and to make a better decision. Then, our group was supposed to present a mini skit about a person who dropped their things accidentally and will show how Filipinos will respond to that person with kindness, however, we were unable to present due to the arrival of ROTC recruiters. I was considering joining ROTC but after thorough thinking about it, I feel like NSTP is way better for me because I can learn more useful lessons that I can apply in in the future and real life. So, our NSTP class was a simple but meaningful class that helped me to better understand on how to be a better person and a Filipino citizen.

It made me think deeper about how leaders should actually care for the community and not just hold power. Next, they shared that we should be wise in choosing our leaders because in reality wrong leaders can cause people to suffer and I can see that happening around us. Then during the discussion, I noticed how they listened and respected different opinions which showed me that leadership also means understanding others and not just speaking. lastly, I feel like I should apply this by being more aware and involved in what is happening around me and being more responsible with my choices because even as a student I know that what I do and what I choose can still affect the community.

I understood that the purpose of NSTP is to help students become responsible citizens who put the common good above personal gain. During our discussions, I gained a deeper understanding of what it means to be a Filipino citizen, as I came to understand that loving the country also involves paying attention to the needs of the community and taking responsibility. The lesson brought to my mind that leadership is not about power, it is about making right decisions and serving others with sincerity. From this experience, I now view myself as a future leader and citizen as one who can positively contribute to my community and help build a better nation through ethical and compassionate actions.

However, when I went there, it was Saturday and the office was closed. I only go home during weekends, and on weekdays I stay in my dorm, so I could not visit the barangay hall on an open day. Because of this, I looked for another way to get the development plan. I contacted one of the barangay councilors or workers and explained my situation. They were very kind and understanding. They even offered to send me a copy of the development plan online and take a picture of it for me since I could not go there in person. This experience showed me that the barangay officials are helpful and willing to assist. They are open and not hiding anything, and they are confident to share their plans with the community. It also showed that they care about helping students like me, even if the situation is difficult. The development plan shows that the barangay has plans for the people and wants to improve the community. It made me feel thankful because they helped me complete my assignment. Overall, I learned that being polite and explaining your situation can help you find a solution. I am grateful for their kindness and support.

How are you personally handling mental stress? Ever since I studied at Holy Angel University, I have experienced major adjustments due to a different and unfamiliar environment. Despite having tons of schoolwork, I still try to manage doing all the things I love to feel at ease. For example, hanging out with my friends after school and asking them in our GC about things I still don't know. I also take a nap whenever I feel burdened by the school loads, and lastly, this one is very effective for me, praying to God, like talking to Him and telling Him all the things I still need to do, praying for strength and peace of mind, and that makes everything feel lighter. When it comes to handling my personal stress, as I said, I always pray to God, and I try to manage my time by doing the important things first while still caring for myself and not being hard on myself.

I learned that social issues could affect many people in a community and need proper attention and solutions. We also talked about Pax Silica, and I realized that the development of AI can have effects beyond technology. For example, using large areas of land for AI facilities may lead to the loss of farms, which can affect farmers, food production, and the community. This made me realize that progress can also have negative effects if its impact on people and the environment is not considered.

We want to help them learn, stay clean and healthy, and have fun safe activities. We also want to help them go back to school and connect them to people who can help them more. We planned activities like reading, writing, math games, storytelling, arts and crafts, hygiene lessons, and sports. I learned that making a plan is important before helping others. I also learned that even small help can make a big difference if it is done with teamwork and care.

Our home was not flooded or greatly affected by the recent typhoons, and for that, I am truly grateful. But being safe also makes me think about the people who were not as fortunate. Some lost their homes, belongings, and the comfort of having a safe place to return to. I continue to pray for everyone affected by the calamity. In times like this, I believe we should be more compassionate and considerate because we never truly know what someone else is going through. While some of us may only see suspended classes or inconveniences, others are facing much greater struggles. So, if you will ask me how am I? I would say I am safe, grateful, and reminded that being blessed also means remembering and caring for those who are still struggling. This situation also made me reflect on how quickly life can change. One moment, everything feels normal, and the next, many people are left trying to rebuild what they lost. It reminds me not to take safety, comfort, and even simple daily routines for granted. Although I was not able to physically participate in community efforts during this time, I still tried to be mindful and supportive in simple ways, such as staying informed, offering prayers, and being more aware of the situation of others. This experience made me realize that helping does not always have to be big, but it starts with concern, empathy, and the willingness to act when given the opportunity.
