Randy and Valerie Williams are a recently retired couple seeking a home that will support their active lifestyle while preparing for the future. With children and young grandchildren who visit often, the Williams need a residence that is both welcoming and accessible for all ages and abilities. The design focuses on prioritizing aging-in-place features, comfortable and adaptable spaces for large family gatherings, and dedicated rooms for Mr. and Mrs. Williams' personal interests. Their new Atlanta home reflects their appreciation for tradition, community, and timeless elegance while offering durability and functionality.

DESIGN CONCEPT: The Artistry of Quilting Randy and Valerie Williams’ Atlanta home draws inspiration from the artistry of quilting. Each space is thoughtfully “stitched” together to reflect care, connection, and legacy. The concept was sparked by the Mrs. Gussie Beatrice Exhibition at the FSU Museum of Fine Arts, which celebrates quilting as a language of storytelling, identity, and shared memory. Mrs. Gussie Beatrice’s quilts embody creativity rooted in community and tradition. At the heart of the home, the open kitchen, dining, and living areas flow seamlessly to welcome large family gatherings and foster togetherness. Layers of color, pattern, and texture create a rhythmic harmony throughout, echoing the artistry of a hand-stitched quilt. Natural materials like wood, brick, and stone are complemented by textiles and bold decorative motifs drawn from Mrs. Williams’ quilts, creating the desired warmth across the home. The home weaves comfort, connection, and tradition into a timeless design that will continue for generations.FLOOR PLAN DEVELOPMENT:Mrs. Gussie Beatrice Exhibition at the FSU Museum of Fine Arts The floor plan is organized around Universal Design principles to ensure long-term accessibility and ease of movement. Zero- threshold entries throughout the home provide seamless access for individuals with mobility aids. Early in the design process, bubble diagrams were used to explore spatial relationships and determine the most functional arrangement of public and private zones. This approach allowed the kitchen, dining, and living areas to form a cohesive core for hosting, while bedrooms, the hobby space, and office remain quiet and private. The rear patio of the Quilted Home is designed as an accessible, wellness-centered outdoor environment that supports aging in place and accommodates multigenerational use. The space extends the home’s quilting-inspired concept while integrating Universal Design principles and durable local materials. The goal is to enhance both social and personal well-being by providing Mr. and Mrs. Williams and their visiting children and grandchildren with comfort, safety, and a strong visual connection to nature.

Just as quilts layer pattern, rhythm, and meaning, the patio layers biophilic form, fractal patterns, and natural materials to promote both social and personal wellness. Textiles and surface patterns throughout the patio draw inspiration from the layering and rhythm found in quilts but reinterpret these ideas through biophilic motifs and fractal-inspired forms showcased in the rear patio mood board. Using durable, local materials such as regional stone, southern brick, and weather-resistant hardwoods ensures longevity while reinforcing the cultural and geographical character of Atlanta. Social wellness, essential for aging adults, is supported through generous seating clusters that encourage community, communal dining for family events, and a grilling and kitchen station that fosters community gatherings. Personal wellness is nurtured through biophilic features such as native planting beds, natural light, and the calming presence of fractal patterns found in wood grain, stone textures, and layered plant foliage. These elements reduce stress, support restorative moments, and strengthen the couple’s connection to Atlanta’s outdoors. The retail environment features a vibrant pantry stocked with pasta, fresh ingredients, and everything needed to craft a meaningful meal. In-house chefs, interactive workshops, and social dining zones encourage guests to engage with the process of making and sharing food. Inspired by the energy of London street markets and the communal culture of Florentine food halls, the space blends old-world Italian craftsmanship with contemporary retail innovation. Located in Los Angeles’ ROW DTLA community, this 15,000-square-foot hybrid office supports research, culinary innovation, and cross-functional collaboration for over 35 employees. The Argonaut Building project focuses on designing the complete first- floor interior and the second-floor elevator lobby and restrooms of a new two-story commercial office building in Tallahassee, Florida. The client, Mrs. Smith of Smith Consultation Group, required a professional workspace that supports daily office functions. All design development and documentation were completed in Autodesk Revit, including the floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, furniture and finish plans, custom millwork details, interior elevations, section views, and full code-compliant construction drawings. The final outcome is a fully coordinated and code-compliant interior environment designed to serve the workplace needs of the Smith Consultation Group.

“BOLD RETURN TO GIVING A DAMN.” This adaptive reuse project explores the transformation of an existing structure at White Oak Pastures into a socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable space that aligns with the farm’s core values and regenerative mission. The design proposal reimagines the underutilized building as Harris’ Herbal Harvest, an herb, tea, and coffee shop that serves both visitors and the local community. The project focuses on repurposing existing materials and preserving the site’s character, supporting the local economy through job creation and local sourcing, and integrating sustainable and regenerative design strategies. Through adaptive reuse, the design reduces environmental impact while strengthening White Oak Pastures’ role as a steward of land, culture, and community to reflect the farm’s guiding philosophy of a

Reclaimed Wood Flooring – Utilized salvaged wood sourced on-site to reduce material waste and preserve site history. Reused Brick – Integrated existing brick into the new structure to honor the character and heritage of the site. Locally Sourced Materials – Incorporated leather seating and cowhide rugs crafted through White Oak’s maker space to support regional production. Zero-Waste Packaging – Implemented sustainable packaging solutions for herbs within the retail shop to minimize waste. Low-Emission Finishes – Selected zero-VOC paints and finishes that support improved indoor air quality and align with LEED standards. Greywater Reuse System – Incorporated a water-saving toilet system that repurposes greywater for flushing. Solar Energy Generation – Integrated solar panels to support indoor lighting and solar-powered outdoor string lighting. Economic Sustainability – Created local employment opportunities through positions including baristas, cashiers, and gardeners. Carbon Reduction – Minimized transportation emissions through locally sourced materials, coffee, and homegrown ingredients. EXISTING BUILDING CONDITIONS: SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS & METHODS: DEVELOPED FLOOR PLAN: The existing structure is a minimally finished agricultural space with an open layout, exposed materials, and limited utilities, which informed the development of a floor plan that preserves its character while organizing circulation and including sustainable systems.

This collection demonstrates the translation of two-dimensional ideas into three-dimensional experiences through physical modeling and fabrication. Combining foam core construction, laser-cut elements, lighting studies, and 3D printing. Each project highlights craftsmanship, precision, and spatial understanding. More than presentation pieces, these models serve as tools for exploration, iteration, and communication, bringing design concepts to life throughout the creative process.

By isolating and refining this element, I was able to translate a traditional architectural ornament into a tangible, scaled down model.This project involved using AutoCAD to create a precise, to-scale digital model of the William Johnston Building’s historic entry door located on Florida State University’s campus. This furniture design project centers on the creation of a table inspired by an art movement of our choice, for which I selected the Art Nouveau movement. The piece draws upon the movement’s signature organic forms and decorative elegance, informed in part by the work of William Morris. Intricate floral inlays, fluid lines, and a refined palette of green, white, and gold establish a sense of visual harmony while thoughtfully engaging principles of line, shape, balance, and chromatic unity. The final table presents a cohesive and expressive interpretation of Art Nouveau aesthetics, uniting natural motifs with a considered composition and a central cutout designed to hold a potted plant. PROJECT OBJECTIVE: The table design began in AutoCAD, where the initial floral motifs and central cutout were carefully drafted. The design was then imported into Aspire/VCarve for CNC preparation, where line thicknesses and curves were adjusted to ensure clean carving and precise inlay placement. This workflow allowed for accurate translation of the digital design into the physical table, resulting in a balanced and cohesive final piece. REIMAGINING 208 BULL STREET A Study in Scale PROJECT OBJECTIVE: 208 Bull Street explores the transformation of an existing site through iterative design development and three-dimensional visualization. During my internship with LS3P, I contributed to the creation of scaled physical study models and digital massing studies used to evaluate form, scale, and spatial relationships. These models supported the design team in refining concepts, communicating design intent, and presenting future possibilities to stakeholders, including city council. The physical models were developed through a collaborative fabrication process among the LS3P team. Working alongside fellow interns and colleagues, we produced detailed scaled foam core models through 3D printing and hands-on assembly. Components such as site elements, trees, and architectural details were fabricated, assembled, and refined to create accurate representations of the proposed design iterations. MODEL DEVELOPMENT PROCESS: Helped developed a Revit massing model to visualize the proposed designs, study form and scale, and provide the LS3P team with a flexible digital tool for continued design exploration. DIGITAL EXPLORATION: REVIT MASSING MODEL Created four scaled foam core model iterations to explore changes in massing, proportion, and site relationships. Through collaborative fabrication using laser cutting, 3D printing, and hand assembly, the models transformed digital concepts into tangible studies used to communicate the project vision to city council and project stakeholders. PHYSICAL ITERATION: FOAM CORE STUDY MODELS

These models showcases a range of physical models developed throughout my interior architecture studies, highlighting skills in fabrication, visualization, and translating design concepts into three-dimensional representations. EXPLORING FORM, MATERIAL, AND CRAFTSMANSHIP THROUGH THREE- DIMENSIONAL STUDIES. Model Making Translated the tattoo needle-inspired concept into a physical foam core and paper model, exploring spatial organization, form, and the relationship between work and living areas. SRO HOBBY LOFT ABSTRACTING NATURE THROUGH FORM Inspired by the strength and movement of a tiger, this study translated organic shapes and characteristics into a monumental sculptural form through paper and foam core fabrication.

Inspired by the Moai statues and Rapa Nui heritage, this project transformed cultural research into a unique museum façade and immersive exhibition experience that celebrates history, shared experiences, and storytelling. CULTURAL COLLISION MUSUEM LIGHTING STUDY: COOKUNITY RECCEPTION Exploring how ambient, accent, and task lighting interact with materials through scaled models, analyzing light diffusion, reflection, and atmosphere using paper and reclaimed materials.
