My sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to this edition, and helped bring it to life. We will continue to come out with further editions of this magazine.DAt a GlanceAt a GlanceAt a GlanceAt a GlanceGMR Group is firmly committed to conducting its business in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. Advancing this commitment, GGIAL undertook an ambitious initiative to plant 51,000 native trees across 6 acres area dedicated to forestation within the premises of Manohar International Airport, Mopa, Goa. The project exemplifies a forward-looking vision—that modern infrastructure development and a thriving natural ecosystem can successfully coexist. In collaboration with Dr. Radhakrishnan Nair, a renowned expert in forestation and widely recognized as the “Green Hero of India,” the project adopts the scientifically proven Miyawaki plantation methodology. This approach enables dense, rapid growth by planting diverse native species in proximity, fostering natural competition and accelerated ecosystem development, with structured maintenance over three years. The plantation was inaugurated on World Environment Day, June 5, 2024, and completed within the same month, with active participation from GGIAL employees, including senior leadership. More than 30 carefully selected native species suited to the local climate and aligned with airport safety considerations were planted. By July 2026, the plantation has matured into a dense, self-sustaining green habitat, with trees averaging 15–20 feet in height. This evolving mini-forest now supports rich biodiversity, including pollinators, birds, and small wildlife, while delivering significant environmental benefits such as enhanced carbon sequestration, increased oxygen generation, temperature moderation, and improved groundwater recharge—demonstrating the tangible impact of sustainable development in action. Communication plays a vital role in both personal and professional environments. It fosters collaboration, builds trust, and enhances overall productivity. In an organizational setup, communication typically flows from top leadership, where business plans and strategic objectives are defined, and is then cascaded through various levels to the workforce responsible for execution. At its core, communication is the process of sharing information, ideas, and meaning between a sender and a receiver through verbal, non-verbal, or written mediums. However, the real value lies not just in communication, but in effective communication. Effective communication ensures that the message is understood as intended, minimizing ambiguity and avoiding misinterpretation. This is particularly important in the workplace, where clarity and precision directly impact performance and outcomes. Email remains one of the most widely used channels for official communication. Despite its frequent use, many emails fail to convey messages effectively, leading to confusion and unnecessary time spent in interpretation. To improve clarity and efficiency in email communication, the following practices should be adopted: Use a clear and relevant subject line Begin with appropriate greetings Present key points at the outset Keep sentences short and concise Clearly define next steps and responsibilities Close with a professional sign-off Retain the original subject line when forwarding emails Raj Kumar PaliwalArjun and Veer had been best friends since childhood. While others spent their evenings playing games, they spent theirs studying Newton, Einstein, Tesla, and every scientist whose work had changed the world. Years later, their obsession with science led them to an impossible achievement. They built a machine that could travel back in time — “the ultimate time machine.” However, the machine had a hidden cost. Every time either of them travelled through time, one day was deducted from their lifespan. “A single day?” Veer laughed. “If becoming rich costs a few days of old age, it’s worth it.” Arjun agreed. The day finally came to test it. “Do you know what this means?” Veer asked excitedly. Arjun smiled. “It means we never have to worry about money again.” Their plan was simple. They would travel back and invest small amounts in stocks that later became giants. They knew exactly which companies would multiply thousands of times in value by the present day. So they travelled, invested, and returned. They purchased cheap lands near small villages that would later grow into booming cities. They collected winning lottery numbers and bought the tickets in advance. They placed bets on matches whose outcomes they already knew. They built friendships with young politicians who would later become powerful leaders. But to their surprise, nothing happened. Their bank accounts remained exactly the same. Every plan was perfect. Every calculation was correct. However, again and again, the past did not turn as they desired, and the future slipped through their fingers. With every journey, they lost another day of life as per machine algorithm. Hundreds of journeys became hundreds of lost days. And they grew old. Not wealthy. Not famous. Not successful. Just old. One winter evening, Veer lay bedridden, breathing heavily. The machine stood dust-covered in the corner of the room. Arjun sat beside him. After a long silence, Veer spoke. “We were probably the smartest people around. We understood science. We built a time machine.” Arjun nodded. Veer’s eyes filled with disappointment. “We tried everything — stocks, lotteries, land, politics, gambling. We knew the future better than anyone.” He paused. “Yet we never became rich. We never even became successful. Instead, we simply grew old.” A faint smile appeared on his face. “How? What went wrong? I am going to die with this mystery.” Arjun looked at his lifelong friend and smiled. “My friend, I thought the same.” Veer turned toward him. “But last week, I studied the machine one final time. And I discovered something.” Veer’s eyes widened. “The days we lost were never our final days or our old-age days.” “What do you mean?” he whispered. Arjun pointed toward the old machine. “We always believed the machine was deducting days from the end of our lives.” “It wasn’t.” “Then which days did it take?” Arjun replied softly, “It took the very same day on which we travelled.” “The universe wasn’t shortening our future. Every time we interfered with destiny, nature simply removed that day from existence. Hence, the changes we made never lasted.” Slowly, understanding appeared on Veer’s face. The room fell silent. Tears formed in Veer’s eyes, not from sadness, but from understanding. “So that was the mystery all along.” Veer whispered his final words to Arjun. “Nature gave us a chance, my friend...” “...but it never took one.” Gokuldas SawantEditorial Vaishnavi N, Gokuldas SAM I COMMUNICATING EFFECTIVELY?Learn & LeadLearn &
