Two unhurried days, made of small, shared moments.एक the meaning of unity Ekta means oneness. The quiet idea that many can move as one. From the Sanskrit eka, meaning one. Ekta is the belief that difference is not distance. That a hundred languages can share a single song, that a hundred lamps can hold one flame. This is not a festival about a single way of being. It gathers the many threads of Indian culture, and everyone drawn to it, into one celebration. You do not need to belong to take part. You only need to arrive. One celebration, many traditions. Come as you are.
The voices and hands that carry the traditions. A gathering of artists, cooks, dancers, and makers. Here are a few of the people shaping these two days.01 The lighting of the lamps At dusk, the gardens fill with diyas. Thousands of small flames, lit hand to hand, until the whole field is glowing. 02 Music from every corner Classical ragas, folk drums, and voices that travelled here from far away. Sit on the grass and let it find you. 03 A table for everyone Food cooked in the open air, shared freely. The oldest form of welcome there is. 04 Quiet places to gather Spaces to talk, to rest, to draw rangoli together, or to simply watch the light change.

Where and when. When 18 - 19 October 2026, from 16:00 each day Where Riverside Cultural Gardens, Rotterdam Entry Free and open to all. No ticket needed. Getting here 10 minutes on foot from Rotterdam Blaak station. Bring a blanket to sit on, and an open evening. Everything else is provided.
