As a German tourist, you can initially enter the Philippines without a visa for 30 days. If you want to stay longer, you can apply for extensions with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration. There are limits and requirements, so you need to keep checking your authorized stay.🛂 What does Michael need? The BI's current FAQ specifically says that for a Temporary Visitor's Visa extension, the requirements are: 1. His original passport 2. Completed Visa Extension Form (TVS-C-VE-2016) That's the basic requirement listed by the Bureau of Immigration.
What to bring anyway when going to an immigration office: Passport photocopy Copy/photo of his latest Philippine entry stamp/admission record Previous extension/visa-waiver documents, if applicable Accommodation details Contact information Payment method ACR I-Card if he already has one The BI says that foreign nationals who stay more than 59 days are required to have an ACR I- Card.
💻 Option 1: Apply Online The Philippine BI currently has an eServices portal where foreigners can process Tourist Visa Extension and Visa Waiver applications online. Step 1 Create/log into a BI eServices account. Step 2 Choose: Tourist Visa Extension or, for the initial 29-day extension: Visa Waiver Step 3 Enter his information. The BI specifically warns applicants to make sure the information matches their immigration records; incorrect information can cause delays or cancellation. Step 4 Submit the application. Step 5 Pay the assessed immigration fees online. The BI's eServices portal currently lists both Tourist Visa Extension and Visa Waiver as online services.
🏢 Option 2: Go to a Bureau of Immigration Office You can also apply through a BI office. The BI says he should bring: Passport + completed TVS-C-VE-2016 visa extension form. The process is essentially: Submit application → BI checks requirements → receive assessment/payment instructions → pay fees → receive the extension/updated immigration record. The exact process can vary depending on the transaction and BI office. ⏰ VERY IMPORTANT: When should Michael apply? The BI says: Apply at least 7 days before his current authorized stay expires.
