Welcome to the New Community Festival This year sees the Community Festival and the Country Fair join forces as they seek to raise both the cultural offer and the money collected for Charity. The Country Fair on the August Bank Holiday will start the festival in Beaconsfield Old Town; this day long ‘carnival’ is followed by ‘Vivaldi’s Gloria’, at St Mary’s Church on Saturday 5 September, a Come & Sing event with rehearsals at 2pm and the informal performance at 6pm, now, I cannot sing but I bet this event will be a lot of fun and will help to increase the donations to the festival’s charities. On Saturday 12 September come along to a display of Beaconsfield’s Heritage at the Town Hall. This event showcases the history of Beaconsfield focussing on key places, people and events throughout the Town’s fascinating history. September on the Green and the HP9 Art Trail, are both taking place on Saturday 19 September, when funds raised will go towards the Mayor’s Charities as well as those of the festival. The Beaconsfield School’s Parent Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) invite you to their annual Beaconsfield Comedy Night on Friday 25 September. The festival concludes on Saturday 10 October with the Mayor’s Film Night held at the National Film and Television School and run by the Beaconsfield Film Society. This promises to be a great evening following the fortunes of James Hunt and Niki Lauda throughout the 1976 Formula One Season. Finally, details of some other events taking place during the Community Festival period are featured on the inside back cover of this programme. Have a great festival and tell all your friends to join us! Councillor Alastair Pike Chair, Beaconsfield Community Festival …….and a big thank you to all those members of our committee who have worked so hard throughout the year to make the Country Fair and the Festival so enjoyable for everyone: Margriet Vandezande-Crump, Harriet Baldwin, Wendy Godrich, Jan Baker, Darren Gray, BarryMoxley, Alex Dunlop, Susanne Hardvendel and Paula Hashmi.

PROUD TO BE PART OF20262026 Dear Residents, I am delighted to be able to invite you to my ‘Mayor’s Film Night’, being hosted by the Beaconsfield Film Society at our wonderful National Film and Televison School (NTFS) in Beaconsfield. This Film Night is part of the Beaconsfield Community Festival which is raising money for charity. For this event, all money raised will go to my chosen charities: Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Wycombe Homeless Connection. The film I have selected to be shown is ‘RUSH’. This film follows the incredibly exciting and intense challenge between James Hunt and Niki Lauda in the 1976 Formula One season. This is not just a film about racing, it is film that explores the human spirit’s resilience and the lengths individuals will go to achieve greatness. There will be a fifteen minute introduction from a speaker with motor racing experience. The Country Fair with the support of the Community Festival is a fund- raiser benefiting a number of local charities. Each year the organising committee will decide which charities to support in the months ahead. In 2026 the committee decided to place more emphasis on local charities and added Wycombe Homeless Connection to our core list of beneficiaries. Community Festival Events now support Cancer Research, Rotary (Beaconsfield), Friends of St Mary’s and Wycombe Homeless Connection. We are also now applying for our own Charitable status as a foundation CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) which means that the charity trustees are also the members. There is no separate wider membership. All major decisions - including changes to the constitution and appointment of new trustees - rest with the trustees themselves. By taking this step, we hope to protect the future of the Community Festival for many years to come. We could not have done all this without the help & support of volunteers & sponsors: The Mayor – Councillor Alex Dunlop Shanly Foundation & the Old Church School Charity The Hon Frederick Farncombe & Hall Barn Beaconsfield Town Council for their support with the Country Fair road closure Dick Smith, Town Crier & Bill Edwards, Master of Ceremonies Jeannette Buckle (advertising) Reverend Lucy Fyfe Jamieson & Rector Margot Suter, St Mary’s & United Reformed Churches The Greyhound Pub and Dining & Prelibato The Frost Partnership, Ashington Page & Oakwood Estates Straid Veterinary Clinic for helping to run the Dog Show The Beaconsfield School & PTFA for allowing and managing the use of their car parking facilities.
