Reflection of LifeReflection of LifeRev. Thomas Pinkins Jr. was born on May 16, 1941, in Rolling Fork, Mississippi, to the late Thomas Pinkins Sr. and Frances Pinkins. On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, Rev. Thomas Pinkins Jr. peacefully entered into eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, unconditional love, and steadfast devotion to God, his family, and his community. He was preceded in death his late wife Fannie Mae Pinkins, his parents, Thomas Pinkins Sr. and Frances Pinkins; his only brother Rev. Albert Pinkins; and his beloved son, Thad Weathers. At an early age, Rev. Pinkins accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. His faith became the cornerstone of his life and remained his source of strength throughout the years. After relocating to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1974, he answered God’s call to ministry and, on August 18, 1985 Fannie and Rev. Pinkins founded Christ Tabernacle Church of God in Christ. With a servant’s heart and unwavering commitment to the Gospel, Rev. Pinkins faithfully led the congregation, preached God’s Word, and ministered to countless lives. His vision, leadership, and dedication established a lasting spiritual legacy that continues to impact generations. To know Rev. Pinkins was to experience love, wisdom, humility, and unwavering faith. He lived each day with purpose, always pointing others toward Christ. Whether in the pulpit, in his home, or in the community, he led by example, reminding others that a life surrendered to God is a life well lived. Rev. Pinkins believed in the value of hard work and providing for his family. On May 26, 1977, he began his career with Ford Motor Company, where he served faithfully until his retirement on October 1, 1996. His dedication, dependability, and strong work ethic earned the respect and admiration of his coworkers and all who knew him.
Rev. Pinkins was known for his calm spirit, unwavering faith, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family. He never met a stranger and was always willing to offer a kind word, wise counsel, or encouragement. Whether through his quiet strength, warm smile, or steadfast presence, he made a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. His life reflected integrity, humility, compassion, and a genuine love for people. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife, Eunice Pinkins; his sisters, Christine (Willie) of Hillside, Illinois, and Frances Anne of Bolingbrook, Illinois; his children, Thomas Pinkins III (Myrtis) of Rolling Fork, Mississippi; Darris Pinkins (Barbara) of Rolling Fork, Mississippi; Lillian Morton of Greenville, Mississippi; Marian Tinner of Kansas City, Missouri; Patrick Pinkins Sr. of Kansas City, Missouri; and Shilonda Pinkins Smith of Kansas City, Missouri. He also leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, his beloved church family, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by his love, leadership, and unwavering faith. Although our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing that Rev. Pinkins has finished his earthly race and now rests in the presence of his Lord and Savior. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love was a gift that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Rev. Thomas Pinkins Jr. lived a life of faith, purpose, and service. He leaves behind more than cherished memories he leaves behind a legacy. Through the church he founded, the family he loved, and the countless lives he touched, his influence will continue to echo for generations.
