THE RENOVATION BIBLE Your home renovation, organised like an interior designer. PLAN • DESIGN • SOURCE • MANAGE

A NOTE FROM THE DESIGNER Good design is about more than choosing beautiful things. I created The Renovation Bible to bring the structure, consideration and attention to detail of professional interior design into the home renovation process. With a BA (Hons) in Interior Architecture & Design and experience across luxury residential, hospitality and private members' club interiors, I have worked with the many moving parts that sit behind a beautifully finished space, from initial concepts and spatial planning through to finishes, lighting, furniture, sourcing and the final details. What I've learnt is that the most successful interiors aren't simply a collection of things that look good. They are considered as a whole. Every decision has a knock-on effect. Layout influences lighting. Lighting influences finishes. Furniture affects circulation. Lead times affect programmes. And somewhere amongst the samples, saved images, quotes, measurements and orders, it's very easy to lose sight of the original vision. That's where this Bible comes in. I've taken the tools, processes and ways of thinking used within interior design and translated them into a practical, approachable system for your own home. It will help you define what you want, understand what you need, organise the practicalities and make considered decisions throughout your renovation, without losing the personality that makes a home yours. Whether you're refreshing one room or taking on an entire property, use it as your working document from the first idea to the final piece being put into place. You don't need to be an interior designer to approach your home like one.
