This brochure introduces the EU-EAC MARKUP II programme, a regional development initiative active from 2023 to 2027. It is intended for SMEs, farmer cooperatives, and development partners in the East African Community, particularly in Uganda.

The programme covers six countries: Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. In Uganda, MARKUP II focuses on four value chains: avocado, cocoa, coffee, and packaging. Implementing partners include the International Trade Centre (ITC), the EAC, and partner state ministries.

The brochure lists the types of support offered: training in coffee processing and value addition, access to finance, export and compliance skills, branding and marketing, and sustainability and traceability. It notes a partnership with the Ugandan Coffee Development Authority.

Coffee sector results are reported: USD 4.70 million in total sales, USD 1.13 million to European markets, and USD 1.69 million to other African markets. The programme created or sustained 690 jobs and supported six businesses in strengthening women's participation through ITC's SheTrades initiative.

The brochure provides contact details: email (eacmarkupii@intracen.org), website (www.eacmarkup.org), and social media handle (@eacmarkup). It directs readers to feature-length success stories online, including one about East Africom Consults, a supported Ugandan SME.
