PROjECT 01 This interior project in Bhaktapur focuses on creating a warm, cozy, and welcoming environment inspired by the simplicity and character of a traditional village setting. The design incorporates natural wood, tex- tured plaster finishes, terracotta flooring, woven pen- dant lights, handcrafted elements, and indoor green- ery to establish an earthy and relaxed atmosphere. Rather than pursuing a contemporary or luxurious aesthetic, the space emphasizes affordability, simplic- ity, comfort, and a sense of familiarity, creating a humble yet thoughtfully designed interior. The use of locally inspired materials and rustic detailing gives the space a distinctive village-like character, while the carefully integrated seating, lighting, and decorative elements maintain functionality and visual warmth. OPTION 2 Option 02 explores a contemporary interpretation of Bhaktapur’s architectural and cultural identity. Inspired by the materiality and craftsmanship of traditional Newari spaces, the interior combines terracotta flooring, natural timber, lattice screens, textured surfaces, and patterned upholstery within a clean and modern spatial framework. The planning is organized around a central service and display zone, with a variety of seating arrange- ments ranging from casual counter seating to intimate built-in lounges. This layered approach cre- ates a dynamic café experience while maintaining a warm, cohesive, and locally rooted atmosphere. CAFE bHAKTAPUR
PROjECT 02 This Chiya (tea) shop in Kamalvinayak, Bhaktapur, is con- ceived around a 7 ft × 7 ft modular grid, developed into a mandala-inspired spatial composition. The design uses a repeated 7 ft × 7 ft work module to organize the café while creating a strong sense of rhythm, symmetry, and propor- tion. The architectural language is defined by arched openings and repetitive bays, giving the façade a dis- tinctive yet simple character. At the heart of the layout, a central courtyard with stepped seating acts as the social focal point, creating an intimate gathering space and enhancing interaction between the surrounding tea-shop spaces. PROjECT 03 An office interior designed with a clean, contem- porary and vibrant approach, balancing functional- ity with a youthful work environment. The design uses a white and natural wood palette accented by bold blue elements, creating a distinctive visual iden- tity while maintaining a bright and open atmosphere. The space incorporates individual workstations, collaborative seating, private work booths, integrat- ed storage, and glazed partitions to support different modes of working. Carefully placed greenery, layered lighting, and ergonomic furniture add warmth and comfort, while the blue meeting and focus pods provide visual contrast and semi-private spaces for concentrated work and informal discussions. PROjECT 03 The planning incorporates open workstations, private cabins, meeting rooms, collaborative areas, breakout spaces, lounge seating, and informal discussion zones. Glazed partitions are used to maintain visual connectivity while providing functional separation between spaces. The central areas introduce greenery and relaxed seating arrangements, creating moments of pause within the working environment. OFFICE INTERIOR A defining element of the design is the use of blue as the office’s visual identity and colour code. The blue accents are consistently integrated into furniture, seating, feature walls, meeting spaces, and breakout areas, creating a co- hesive identity throughout the workplace while contrasting with the neutral white and natural wood palette.
PROjECT 04 A contemporary residential project located in Suryabinay- ak, Bhaktapur, designed with a strong emphasis on natu- ral light, open spaces, greenery, and family-oriented living. The residence is organized across three levels, with a to- tal programmed area of approximately 3,521 sq.ft. The planning revolves around a central courtyard, creating a visual and environmental connection between the interi- or spaces and landscape. Architecturally, the façade uses a combination of light textured concrete/plaster surfaces, darker verti- cal textured finishes, extensive glazing, and projecting volumes to create a clean contemporary charac- ter. The recessed central entrance and courtyard act as the main focal point of the elevation. The design also incorporates multiple balconies, terraces, decks, landscaped areas, and large windows, allowing the residence to receive ample daylight while maintaining strong connections to the surround- ing environment. Overall, the house combines modern architectural expression with warm, function- al, and family-centric living spaces, suited to the residential character of Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur. dARjEELING HEIGHT CHHEN
PROjECT 05 The residence at Imadol, Lalitpur is conceived around a central courtyard that serves as the spatial and visual heart of the house. The planning establishes a clear tran- sition between public, private, and service areas, with living, dining, kitchen, and outdoor functions organized on the ground floor, while bedrooms and flexible family spaces are positioned on the upper floor. The courtyard, deck, balcony, and outdoor kitchen create a continuous relationship between indoor and outdoor environments, promoting natural light, ventilation, and visual connectiv- ity. The upper-floor planning further incorporates a bedroom connected to a dedicated studio, along with a common toilet and terrace positioned to the west of the staircase. On the opposite side, the service functions are consolidated through a laundry and store area, complemented by an additional terrace. A recessed staircase leading to the roof terrace is carefully integrated into the plan to maintain a clean building profile and minimize its visibility from the exterior. Overall, the design focuses on functional zoning, efficient circulation, privacy, and a strong indoor–out- door relationship. The central courtyard acts as a unifying element, while the terraces and roof-level spaces provide additional opportunities for outdoor interaction and relaxation. The residence aims to create a contemporary and functional family home where greenery, natural light, ventilation, privacy, and architectural simplicity are integrated into a coherent spatial composition.
