The drugs and cosmetics section covers three items. The Drugs (Tenth Amendment) Rules, 2026 restrict oral liquid formulations with more than 12% alcohol v/v in packs larger than 30 ml, moving them from Schedule K exemption to Schedule H1. A CDSCO circular directs enhanced surveillance of imported cosmetics sold without valid Import Registration Certificates. The BIS section covers two items. A corrigendum extends compliance deadlines by six months for eight product categories under a Quality Control Order. The temporary suspension of enforcement of the n-Butyl Acrylate Quality Control Order, 2021 is extended to 31 July 2026.
The MeitY section covers the ninth extension of the compulsory registration timeline for Television Sets under the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Compulsory Registration) Order, 2021, now due on 26 January 2027. The MoEFCC section covers the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Amendment Rules, 2026, which remove brine sludge from the hazardous waste list for the chlor-alkali industry.
The Goa Deposit Refund Scheme Authority notifies Phase I of its Deposit Refund Scheme for liquor packaging, covering glass, plastic, and metal packaging. Registration deadline for Producers, Importers and Brand Owners is 31 July 2026, with the scheme effective from 1 September 2026. The newsletter also notes that the Common Extended Producer Responsibility (CEPR) Portal has been launched by the Central Pollution Control Board as a unified platform for all EPR waste streams.
