Where students are learning the importance of composing and sustainable agriculture. By teaching children how to transform organic waste into nutrient -rich compost, we are helping them develop practical life skills, environmental awareness and an appreciation for caring for the earth. This project will not only benefit the school, but also encourage families and the wider community to adopt environmentally responsible practice. Other projects completed during this quarter school donations, reading programmes, bun and cheese projects, scholarship fundings, fundraising, special award to children, support families in time of bereavement,

Service hours for the quarter approximately six thousand nine hundred. We are not just completing projects we are changing lives, strengthening communities and ensuring that every child has an opportunity to thrive. Together we are changing lives nurturing hope and building brighter further one child one community one act of service at a time. President Amy Rose and members of the Kiwanis Club of Guy's Hill extended warm Easter greetings to members, partners and stakeholders, wishing everyone a safe and blessed holiday.
KCGH NEWSLETTER VOLUME 3 (APR -JUN 2026) HTTPS://WWW.KIWANIS.ORG/ FB GUYS HILL KIWANIS CLUB The club also brought Easter cheer to the children of Guy's Hill Basic School through a special Easter treat which was warmly received by the students, teachers and the entire school family DIVISON 23 WEST FUNDRAISING BOAT CRUISE Members and friends of the Kiwanis Club of Guy's Hill proudly supported Division 23 West's fundraising boat cruise: "Retro Meet Souls on the Seas – Best of the 80s–2000s" Dressed elegantly in yellow and white, members enjoyed an evening of fellowship, dancing and networking aboard The Caribbean Queen while cruising the Kingston Harbour. The event successfully promoted fellowship among clubs while supporting divisional fundraising initiatives.
KCGH NEWSLETTER VOLUME 3 (APR -JUN 2026) HTTPS://WWW.KIWANIS.ORG/ FB GUYS HILL KIWANIS CLUB SIGNATURE PROJECT CONTINUES – GUYS HILL PRIMARY SCHOOL The club continued work on its Signature Project at Guy's Hill Primary School. This phase of the project focused on: • fencing the compost area • improving the overall learning environment • encouraging environmental stewardship The students continued to demonstrate ownership by caring for the compost area with enthusiasm. The club remains committed to promoting environmental sustainability within our schools.

Throughout Child's Month, the club actively promoted the national theme by sharing daily inspirational and educational messages with members and supporters, helping to raise awareness of children's mental health and emotional well-being. RE-ACTIVATION OF KEY CLUB- GUY’S HILL HIGH One of the quarter's major highlights was the successful re-activation of the Key Club at Guy's Hill High School on May 4, 2026. Several enthusiastic students attended the orientation session led by President Amy Rose, DP Esmelin and Director Merline, signalling a promising future for youth leadership and community service at the institution. The club looks forward to mentoring the re-activated Key Club as these new members begin their service journey.

Several club members visited: Guy's Hill Basic School Clifford Basic School Mount Nebo Primary & Infant School Seafield Primary & Infant School Wheelers Mount Basic School Jubilee Town Primary & Infant School Wallingford Primary & Infant School Bonnett Primary & Infant School The initiative reinforced the importance of reading as a foundation for lifelong learning.

Special greetings were extended to teachers in recognition of their unwavering commitment to shaping future generations. LEADERSHIP SPOTLIGHT – PREPARING TO LEAD The Kiwanis Club of Guy's Hill proudly celebrates LGD Millicent DaCosta on her successful participation in the Kiwanis Eastern Canada and the Caribbean District Convention, held in Toronto, Canada, from April 27 to May 3, 2026. During the convention, LGD Millicent underwent an intensive leadership training programme in preparation for assuming the office of Lieutenant Governor for the 2026–2027 Administrative Year. The comprehensive training equipped her with the knowledge, leadership skills, and practical tools necessary to effectively serve the clubs of Division 23 West. Reflecting on the experience, LGD Millicent described the training as both rigorous and rewarding, noting that it has fully prepared her to embrace the responsibilities of her new role. Returning home inspired and energized, she shared that she is "all fired up and ready to go!"

MOTHER’S DAY Warm Mother's Day greetings were extended to mothers and mother figures throughout our club and community. We thank them for their unconditional love, sacrifice and invaluable contribution to families and society. LABOUR DAY COMMUNITY PROJECT The Kiwanis Club of Guy's Hill collaborated with the Clifford Basic School PTA, Member of Parliament for South East St. Ann, Dr. Kenneth Russell, Past Students of the Basic School and members of the Guy's Hill Seventh-Day Adventist Church PATH Finders Club to give the school a much-needed facelift. The project included painting of the students’ and staff sanitary conveniences, the students’ sick bay, the school’s verandah, repotting and planting flowers in the garden along the front of the school and fixing bathroom fixtures.

Participants benefited from an informative and engaging presentation on asthma prevention, management and emergency care. The presentation was well received and generated meaningful discussion among attendees. GRADUATION SEASON June marked another exciting graduation season. The Kiwanis Club of Guy's Hill proudly supported numerous graduation ceremonies and continued investing in the future of our nation's children by awarding scholarships to deserving students. CELEBRATING FATHERS On June 21, 2026, the club paused to celebrate a very special day “Father's Day” by extending heartfelt greetings and appreciation to fathers and father figures within our membership and throughout the wider community. CARING THROUGH BEREAVEMENT One of the Objects of Kiwanis International reminds us: "To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities."

This quarter, we especially remember: • Kiwanian Orleen, who mourned the loss of her beloved father. • President Amy Rose, who experienced the heartbreaking loss of her son. We continue to pray with and for them, as well as every family who has suffered the loss of a loved one. Together, we will continue to build a stronger Kiwanis and a brighter future for those we serve. YOUTH PROTECTION & BACKGROUND CHECKS As the premier provider of youth service clubs and programs, Kiwanis International holds itself and its members to the highest standards of conduct and awareness. Each year, more than 300,000 youth take part in Kiwanis Service Leadership Programs (SLPs) such as K- Kids, Builders Club and Key Club. Kiwanis reaches millions more youth around the world through club and district service projects. When we work with and mentor youth during projects and activities, their care and welfare are entrusted to us. Kiwanis members must know how to protect the youth with whom we interact. When we all share this commitment, we also protect ourselves and the organization we value. Kiwanis International has taken extensive action to equip Kiwanis clubs, districts and SLPs with the tools to provide safe and secure environments for youth. Resources include a 24/7 toll-free helpline, as well as a roster of youth protection managers for each Kiwanis district
